Hey guys, would like to keep it short. Had to take a few weeks off Boxing because i currently have my final exams and actually decided to dedicate sometime to school. I was in a very fit state before my break, (training twice a day at high intensity) since then i tried hard to keep my diet healthy and doing well so far, i doubt i put any weight which is alright but obviously my fitness level has gone down. I would like to ask you guys what form of training is required to quickly bring back my fitness? Im willing to train everyday straight even twice a day but i obviously cannot go at high intensity the first 2 weeks or so and i honestly need results fast (getting as many amateur fights as possible). Thanks in advance, any posts would help
Hey mate, Just go back to what you were doing before your break. A few weeks break means you wouldn't have lost that much conditioning. If you already had a high level of fitness, you'll be able to get back to that level much quicker than someone who is starting from scratch.
I doubt you would have lost that much fitness. From experience id say the break could have done you good because as you already know rest is important. But if you did lose fitness then push yourself through your normal routine and after 2 or so weeks you should be where you left off or maybe even ahead. Remember fitness is mostly due to your lungs and heart right? And even during your time off your still using them? So why would they get weaker in a short space of time?
Im going to be honest and say i have no clue, i never took a break from boxing before so i have no idea if my fitness would go down or not..
Then i suggest you stop worrying and see how training goes. If your fitness has gone down then worry about it then. Lol no point worrying if its for nothing
Just train like regular, maybe a little easier the first week of two, by the third week you should be right back were you left off, you won't have lost that much fitness as long as you didn't completely go crazy with food and gain a bunch of weight. If you have been training hard for a while the break will have actually done you a lot of good. http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/training/the-importance-of-rest.html
