some fighter who dont burn themselves out acually start to learn how to fight, experience is a thing of Beauty....Toney, B-Hop, Jones are still fighting well...Jones and Hopkins are always in condition and B-Hop is better now as a light heavy....Vitali at 38 is fighting smarter and is beating younger guys....age is a number
He's talkin' about your avatar although I reckon it's the Lexington Avenue line myself (4,5,6), not the G.
Holyfield is 46 way past his prime but he DECISIVLY beat Russian Giant who is the urrent WBA champ and who David Haye faces to be #3 in the world. His win was more clear than Chagaev win over Valuev. Hopkins is 44 past his prime but he narrowly lost to Joe Calzaghe and totally embarrased PAvlik middleweight champ in his prime and Antonio Tarver. Roy Jones is 41 but recently he performs very well against decent competition. Vitali Klitschko is nearly 40 but he is still the man to beat and a favourite against....anyone. Fragomeni is 40 but still good enough to fight for titles at CW. Glen Johnson 40 IMO overrated and will lose badly to Dawson but we will see, maybe he can knock Dawson out and will be the man to beat at LHW. Shane Mosley 39 still one of the best in the world, avoided by second best fighter in the world p4p Floyd Mayweather. Nate Campbell 38 I think is fighting the rematch with Bradley for all the marbles.
Avg age at each weight top 25. The oldest guys are usually rated very high. p4p avg age is second oldest behind heavyweight. weight avg age youngest oldest p4p 31,68 25 Dawson 44 Hopkins HW 32,40 23 Boystov 46 Holyfield CW 30,28 24 Huck 40 Fragomenni LHW 30,84 22 Cleverly 44 Hopkins SMW 29,92 25 Ward 34 Mcgee MW 29,40 22 Jacobs 37 Wright LMW 29,84 23 Martiosyan 39 Philips WW 29,68 19 Alvarez 38 Mosley LWW 28,76 22 Khan 37 Campbell LW 28,80 23 Demarco 39 Pitalua SFW 27,24 20 Gutierrez 35 Fana FW 27,48 21 Conception 32 Cruz SBW 29,56 24 Escalante 37 Penalosa BW 27,24 19 Avalos 34 Morel SFW 28,44 22 Kameda 39 Mbityi FW 27,68 20 Kameda 35 Naito LFW 29,04 19 Casimero 38 Lazarte MW 27,02 19 Rios 38 Rachman
I think its not only about the fact if an aged boxer can win or not or whether he is good enough...I had Holyfield winning the fight against Valuev, but im beginning to worry about his health
