Just noticed this is on the WBSS card this weekend but haven't really seen much chat about it. How do y'all see it going?
My thoughts: 1. This is an interesting fight that could go either way. 2. Reason Gevor might win: He's 10 years younger (27), hasn't taken the same punishment as Durodola, had the chin to take Diablo's power without problems, and arguably ought to be undefeated (many thought he beat Diablo). 3. Reasons Durodola might win: He's got more power than any previous Gevor opponent, he's got the best win of the two (Kudryashov I), and Gevor doesn't have a lot of power to keep him off (e.g. he couldn't stop an ancient Brudov, or a journeyman like Rusiewicz). I suspect that Gevor will be careful and edge his way to a close UD, but a Durodola KO is definitely possible as well.
I'll roll with Durodola. He is hard hitting and exciting and I want him to get a win to stay in the mix.
Good points Kiwiman. A couple of things, i noticed Gevor was quite tentative in the Diablo fight. If he let his hands ago he came out on top, his hand speed is quite good, defense is Ok as well, he can slip and block punches. Chin is still a question mark especially against big puncher like Durodola. Durodola is up there in age, while possesses big punches, I don't like how Kurdyasov was able to tag him repeatedly on both fights, I think defense is not his strong point. I think this is the fight this week that can make the difference in the league. Nervous pick on this one, Gevor by decision.
