You have to have Martinez as the number one middleweight in the world. That said, a lot of people on here think of Martinez as some super fighter/great middleweight who would destroy every 154-160 pounder out there. He's far from that. So is Golovkin. These guys are relatively mediocre in a historical sense and I think a fight between them would be an absolute barn-burner. Neither is above struggling against average fighters like Rosado, Barker, Macklin, having competitive fights with sub-par champions like Paul Williams, or almost getting knocked out against one of the world title holders to ever live in Chavez Jr (albeit a cruiserweight shamefully masquerading as a middleweight). I wouldn't be surprised if Martinez won or if Golovkin won. They're offensively solid and vulnerable at the same time.
