...if GGG goes up to 168 will he be allowed a few tune up fights as the self proclaimed SOG , if not why not...:huh
He wouldn't really need tune ups 168 is very weak and groves who is right up there with he best in the division struggled to a point win over Murray who GGG beat senseless .
I don't think he needs a tune up but he should better have one to test himself at that weight. Anyway I think he should stay @160 because there aren't much Interesting fights @ 168 i can only see Ramirez and Degale as interesting oppenents an both are tall compared to Golovkin. @ 160 there will be Alvarez in the future and also Jacobs the Charlos and maybe Andrade
168 is a waste land, Ramirez and smith are the two big up and comers, bug being the operative word because they are weight draining to avoid the tough 175 division. There are no other prospects coming though 160 has a ton of top prospects murata, khytrov,Quigley etc just to name a few and andrade, the Charlie etc weight draining to make the weak 154 division will eventually have to move up, however id say they will avoid that like the plague
Been reported that Arum has said Ramirezwill be fighting GGG at 168 hence my question. I do not really think he would need a tune up either but if its OK for the so say P$P fighter SOG then why not GGG
He doesn´t need tune ups, but if he chooses to have one, I can understand that. IMO he would be favorite against every champion at 168.
any fighter deserves a tuneup to settle into a new weight class. Anymore then 2 and your really pushing your luck... Even if u dislike GGG ud want him to have tuneups as a loss against a top 168fighter has an asterisk next to it simply because we dont know how well GGG handled the move up If he moves up and continues to look insanely dominant like he has at 160 then loses to ward then you can say ward beat a prime GGG
lil g should def get at tuneup at 168 if he wants...if he even goes there.... my problem is with his lil joyboys....one minute they tell us that "ward needed so many tuneups the fight wasnt feasible because lil g would have to wait"...even though of course we know lil said 164 but then they reference how lil g said he was ready to go at the hbo offices...at the drop of a hat...which contradicts needing tuneups..of course at that point ward was on the shelf and unvailable anyway theres a few fights at 168 that would be interesting...but i cant really see it happening as far as ward tuneups..not only is he going to a new class...but also basically coming off 2 years on inactivity....2 years of not getting paid...these tuneups are a good way to shake rust and make back some of the money he missed out on if ward had been active, fighting 3x a year for the last few years i doubt youd be seeing this
not only has he been active....his fans claim he was at the hbos offices and said hes ready to go right now( this of course when ward was on the shelf and couldnt fight)....so apparently lil g doesnt need any tuneups and never did but dont try to tell them that...theyll flip to their other personality that just says the exact opposite of that...lol
