There's taking risks and there's being an idiot. He can fight Froch or Chavez or both before fighting Ward and get himself readier for that fight, there's no reason not to do so.
That's rich calling GGG a cherry picker in a PBF comparison thread. Hang up your racist hat for a minute and look at the facts. Your prejudicial glasses continue to be your downfall. GGG has been one of the most ducked in boxing, so it just appears to be cherry picking. 28 fights is only one more than Floyd when he moved up and Floyd had lineal title.
Yep. Mr Pibb has set it up so that GGG sucks unless he beats Ward. No other win will prove anything for him. Such ludicrousness makes it completely obvious that it is prejudice, and not principal that drives him. He tried to tell me in another thread that he wasn't a racist and that I had misjudged him. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and believed him but since then, he's gone out of his way to confirm his lie in that thread. Also, he called some one "little Mexican" just because they complimented GGG as a good person. P.S. I asked Mr Pibb to make a list of fighters he would consider good wins for GGG, other than Ward. People he would say, ok GGG is real, if he beat. And he has yet to respond.
This comparison is asinine and damn stupid - almost vulgar. Floyd won the LINEAR 130lb title against a highly regarded champion in his 18th pro fight and defended that title against the cream of the crop. WTF has Golovkin ever done other than beat up on the Curtis Stevens' of the world? You Golovtards really need to stop with this foolishness. Golovkin isn't even in the same hemisphere as Floyd.
Once again, facts get in the way of GGG haters who don't give a crap about facts. The FACTS are: Floyd won the lightweight title you mention against Castillo in his 28th fight. 28th fight. Look it up and most believe he actually LOST that fight but got a gift decision.
You must be brain dead. Here are the FACTS, Genius; Mayweather won the LINEAR 130lb title in his 18th pro fight from a highly regarded champion. He then proceeded to defend that title against the cream of the crop. He then proceeded to move up and dominate. What has Golovkin ever done other than beat up on a string of BUMs, STIFFs, TOMATO CANs, No Hopers and NEVER WEREs?
Anyone who can read can plainly see it was Castillo in his 28th fight. He was super featherweight until then, for 27 fights. He moved to lightweight, then, in 28th. See the link below for proof: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floyd_Mayweather,_Jr. I guess we were talking about different events. I thought you were responding to the discussion of moving up in weight. That was the topic of the thread. Forgive me, I thought you were on topic. I was wrong. I forgot you GGG haters like to do off-topic drive-bys.
I'm not the one posting off-topic half the time. Did you even read the OP, or just see GGG and pipe in to slam him completely ignorant of the topic? Nor am I the one who can't remember facts of GGG's career. You've been told dozens of times, you can read about them on ESPN and the like, yet you can't remember them. That, my friend, is brain dead in the truest sense of the word. All I did was assume you were posting on topic and read your post too quickly, temporarily confusing the numeric value of SFW and LW because I thought you were on topic. An honest mistake, but forgetting facts, sometimes hours after reading them, over and over and over. That's brain dead. :nut News Flash: GGG was ducked from the beginning of his career because of his power and boxing skill that comes along with a 345-5 amateur record. Floyd didn't have that problem so quickly, so saying GGG's career should have gone like Floyd's by fight 18, is just.... well... brain dead.
I agree bro :good Only thing i would say is that 2014 should be his last year at 160 if he doesnt get the Martinez or Cotto fight for Lineal Title. if he gets his shot and wins then he could stay for awhile or move up, win or lose and cn go back to 160 and defend
GGG is very good and He might have a chance against ward but no way his first fight at 168 should be ward or Froch. Maybe Bika or Dirrel first to see where he stands with the bigger guys.
By 2003 Floyd had amassed what is generally recognized as one of the very greatest runs at 130 pounds in addition to twice beating who is generally recognized as the best Lightweight of the decade.
Good, an intelligent, on-topic post. I completely agree. If GGG can't get the lineal title by years end, move to SMW. In fact, he should probably begin some weight gain within the next few months. It's a slow process to do it properly. He walks around at 166 or 167, so he should be able to put on a few pounds and still comfortably make 160.
