This! In the first fight and later part of 2nd fight, Canelo was frustrated at times. Same look in Bivol fight! If someone can hurt Canelo or at least drop him, then he may come unglued a little. However from what we know he is pretty strong mentally.
I think at this stage it will benefit You are probably right. GGG's ability to cut the ring off is just good enough to drain Canelo's gas tank if he tries staying on the backfoot the whole fight.
GGG has looked old and slow in recent years and has been inactive. Still dangerous and I might throw a few dollars in his direction at these odds. Canelo wins on cards no matter what so it’s a steep hill to climb for GGG.
It took GGG four rounds to get his battered old rusty engine going fully against Japanese terminator Murata and he had to dig deep to weather the storm in the early rounds while he was trying to get it going. But once he managed to get it going he beat the soul out of Murata's body. His car is old and knackered and it can only trundle along these days but it's still very sturdily built and if it rolls right over you you'll think you've been hit by a HGV going at full speed. That's what I'm talking about https://postimg.cc/G4YjZ3zX
Canelo has gotten better while GGG has decayed, you do the math. I think the only chance GGG had was if Canelo took him lightly, but the probability of that happening now that Canelo lost to Bivol is zero, if anything that loss will make Canelo feel he now has something to prove. This spells bad news for GGG.
That very same sensation of having something to prove could also be his downfall. He may try too hard to look impressive and either gas early, or throw himself off of the best possible gameplan. I'm not saying those scenarios happen for sure, I'm just calling that out as a two way street.
Agree. Golovkin looks as powerful as ever. What is missing is his speed. He looked real slow against Murata
Or good news, canelo may get more than he bargained for. If Canelo gets hurt while trying to prove something he might get Demoralized, who knows? You can bet GGG has something to prove.
I didn't think he looked slow against Szeremeta though, but that was a long time ago and it was hard to gauge because Szeremeta wasn't really a threat. Maybe it's the bulk, he is starting to seem really muscular lately, but his gas tank seems ok. I wonder if VADA is really testing Canelo. Has VADA been testing Canelo for all his fights since the 2nd GGG fight, or just hit and miss? I haven't been paying attention to those details.
GGG looked massive in the Murata fight. He reminded me of Dick Tiger tbh. Maybe he's been bulking up for 168.
They say you should never fight with anger. But if you know how to channel hate in the right way, controlled hate, hate free from the recklessness that accompanies anger, you can enter a zen-like retributive state and when you combine that with that god-given natural Eurasian heat GGG is going to be bringing, a Eurasian heat that has been way too hot for Clenelo to handle x 3 now, and despite all the wear and tear on GGG's battered old body and his advanced age, it's going to be ginger man down.
Canelo's not stupid and he's proven it over the long haul of his career. Canelo allready knows what GGG brings to the table, he allready knows GGG's boxing ability and power to be able to hurt him. Those were not easy fights for Canelo so you know he's not going to just go into a seek and destroy type of mission against GGG. I see Canelo utilizing a combination of the tactics he used in both his fights with GGG. While Canelo simply circles and boxed in the first fight, he was was much more aggressive then even GGG in the second fight. I see Canelo coming out boxing in this third fight and then taking it to GGG once Canelo feels GGG is starting to wilt. I have a strong feeling the fight wont reach the late rounds as GGG will get thoroughly outoxed early with Canelo's speed being a big factor. Then fathertime will take over and so will Canelo. Canelo is to smart a fighter to fall into the trap that he's young and GGG is old and thus "I'm going to obliterate him" type of mentality. Let me awake some of you forum members here. Since their fights, Canelo's caliber of opposition has been far and beyond that of what GGG's has, that in itself is going to factor in huge on the side of Canelo.
you talk as is if gg didnt put canelo on the canvas because he didnt want to, and not because he couldnt. Gg didnt put canelo on the canvas because he was NOT able to put canelo on the canvas no matter how much he tried. He just couldnt. He should be more worried about not finishing he himself sleeping on the canvas, imho. He looked like **** lately. Canelo is no murata and gg's not in his 30's anymore.
GGG had looked slow recently while still fighting at 160, I can't imagine how he'll look in his 168 debut at age 40. No point in putting money on a GGG win, barely any chance for him.
You wrote a good post, but I dont agree with Canelo's apponents being better than even a current GGG. if that's what you mean't, you may have mean't that Canelo's apponents have been better than GGG'S apponents, you may be right, but I think the Derevyanchenko and Murata of the GGG fights measure up quite well with Canelo's best, and they definitely aren't better than even a 40 year old GGG.
