You think Ruiz was the only guy Jones and Toney could beat?

GGG beat him in the first fight and anyone outside of Mexico knows it

He was the only guy they both beat (well Toney s verdict was changed) for a title, so who knows?

Roy and Toney would have beaten several other ranked guys at the time to prove otherwise, particularly Roy.

But they both went for Ruiz.
Now fighting Lennox would have REALLY proven something.

I wouldn’t expect Roy to beat LL, but I do think it would have been an interesting fight, speed vs size.

I did expect him to beat Rahman, Oquendo, Toney, Holyfield, Tua, those types.

Remember tho how quickly his chin deserted him, after Ruiz.
Lennox would have found that chin fast.

He lost the chin cuz he drained himself to get back down to LHW, he’d still have a chin if he stood at HW.

That being said Lewis KOs him regardless.

I still don't think he could have had a long successful run at heavyweight.
Toney was different,he never really lost his whiskers, but Jones was slipping.
And you don't want to be a built up middle weight doing that against big heavy s.

LL may have, but some of the other I listed wound have struggled or never found it

He should have stated at HW and made a few title defenses and called it a day, retire at 50+ and 1 loss

Like I said, I don't think he was robust enough to keep going at heavyweight.
He should have retired after Tarver 1 imo

I would have loved to see Pride-esque freakshows in boxing. Have Canelo fight with a 300 lbs NFL player on enough roids to kill an elephant. Put Beterbiev against a HW in an open-weight match. Its too dangerous to sanction but damn if it wouldnt be entertaining as hell.

Jones was a lot bigger than GGG and Canelo, both Jones and Toney had a 74 inch reach, GGG only had a 70 inch reach while Canelo only has a 70.5 inch reach, they would get their ears jabbed off as they tried to get inside.

He was, with matchmaking. Could have taken down several top 10-15 guys with little trouble.
