"Angulo, a big, strong, mature pressure fighter, forced Golovkin’s heavy hand, so to speak."

So Canelo gave him good sparring but he basically beat the **** out of Angulo, Quillen and Chavez?

Not saying that GGG wouldn't beat Canelo, but Canelo is really young and looks to be improving with every fight.

    Doc,let the kid grow.He is 22 already .
And I don't believe sparring rumors, what counts is what happens in the ring.Previous to Rigo vs Rico there was a rumor about Rico KOing Rigo in sparring. The ring proved otherwise.

You gotta take into consideration that the Ring is GB owned, and tasked with making Canelo look good. Forget GG, he must be showing major faults in all kinds of sparring for them to keep him so protected for so long. He's pretty much the biggest joke in boxing. Look at this tweet:

Well i think the reports that he hammered quillin and chavez have not been confirmed by any reliable sources and doug fischer from ring who attends a lot of sparring session and seems to have his finger very much on the pulse when it comes to these things says that from what he has heard quillin and golovkin was just good sparring with nobody really getting the upper hand in any major way.

He does however say that golovkin bashed angulo up pretty seriously. but that doesnt surprise me really, i mean angulo is not particularly good defensively and relies mainly on power, pressure and strength. These things are unlikely to get you anywhere against a bigger guy, who hits harder than you and who is at least just as strong especially over a short number of rounds with head gear and big heavy gloves.

Yeah, I heard Canelo's lot told GGG to take it easy on him after that. He wasn't allowed to hit him with full force. Canelo was shook pretty badly, apparently.

i think i would also take chavez over ggg in a fight at 160. chavez learned the hard way (versus sexy) that he needs to let his hands go and be willing to trade. if hes willing to trade (which i believe he will in the future/would k.o. sexy in a rematch).... his 20-25lb weight advantage will be s i g n i f i c a n t

True but the Golovkin-Alvarez story was from before Nigel Collins got fired last year and the company started to obviously exert more influence on the magazine by changing headquarters.

you have to realize that the majority of people here on the esb forums dont understand the word "protected" because they dont understand boxing such as oscar does.

its the same reason that canelo wont be fighting a 100 percent james kirkland. gbp will fight james six months removed from shoulder surgery but a fully healed james...no.

canelo backers cannot comprehend this because they dont understand the fight game. james lands an overhand right with 10-ounce gloves sans head gear and canelos leg is not going to stiffen.

sauls leg is going to go limp.

james holds the distinction of being the only fighter that has ever knocked down molina(presumably with a bad sholuder) and knocked down and subsequently ko'd angulo.

    gbp know this.

and thats why canelo/kirkland is not going to happen.

    rosado/quintana or maidaina.

Canelo has been hurt before he does not have the best chin nor the best defense . Kermit cintron got some shots in , shame he fought like a scared *****

do you really believe that gbp would put canelo in with a fearless warrior such as kirkland, lara, molina, bundrage or vanes? someone whos going to step into his guard, look him straight into his eyes and crack him full-force knowing that he can beat canelo?

there is a reason dlh put kermit in with canelo.

its because cintron is now reduced to the roll of a "scared *****" that will jump out of a ring when its not going his way and will pitch tent when hes losing like he did against molina.

It's gotten to the point where Quintana and Rosado would be a step forward. At least they compete in the same division.

Sounded like tripleG got the best of Canelo.
