yeah man...nothing like dominating C level competition and welterweights

maybe k2 and abel should put less onus on how golovkin is beating his competition and more on who his competition is...that might actually help him get some more fights

its too funny isn't it? "canelo and Floyd fight for money they are cowards they have no stones"

last time I checked Floyd was a ppv king that made hundreds of millions...and canelo was a top ppv seller that just put 50k in the seats and got 300k buys against a guy like liam smith

then you turn around and ask why ggg ducked ward "made no sense...ward brings no money...not smart business"

"why was he willing to fight froch and chavez"...."oh well that's simple they bring big money"

The guy who has never fought higher than 155? I'm no Canelo fanboy, but he's 26 years old and shouldn't be forced to 160.

He already has a great resume and could fight for another TEN years. I've no doubt he'll move up to 160 eventually and probably 168.

If 34 year old GGG is pinning all his hopes on finally fighting an elite fighter on one guy deciding to be a fully fledged MW, then I daresay he's going to be disappointed.

Yea I agree, he might wait 1.5 - 2 years for nothing. But thats what his team is doing. I think team Canelo will try their hardest to stay below 160 as long as possible. They said 158 is next lol. I have a hunch that he'll get an easy fight next may, then probably David Lemieux in Sep. and easy fight for Dec '17, and the fight with GGG to be ppushd for May '18. I think thats Oscar's plan.
We'll see what GGG will do in the next 12-18 months.

Except that it is not Golovkin walking away. He can just sit firm on his position, guaranteed by the rules of WBA, and it would be Jacobs to turn down or walk away from the fight if he doesn't like the split according to the official rules.

If Jacobs vacates his regular belt and mandatory positions rather than fight Golovkin, it's not hard to judge whether that's "ducking" or not.

I disagree simple as that.....Golovkin is a natural Middleweight as is Canelo....if anyone is struggling at weight it's Canelo at 155....Canelo has no choice but to go to 160 He is to Big...whereas Golovkin comfortably makes 160....

Can Lemieux make 158 and where in the year does three fights at 158 take him too?

    Lemieux can barely make 160.
I dont understant ur 2nd question.
I think Canelo wil have at least one full 160 fight before takin on GGG. That should be against Lemieux, or maybe Saunders.

That's what I thought re Lemieux but what I meant about Canelo is,is he planning on fitting in three fights at 158 before next fall as isn't that when he's supposed to fighting Golovkin or is just another one of those "get the fans of our backs promises" that Oscar does, personally wouldn't they be better off just saying nothing or even we not gonna fight GGG?cause the way I see it when he fought Liam Smith at 154 he at least in a proper weight class whereas 158 is back to the catchweight thing again,if it's to acclimate then fair play as that's somethin Brook and Amir Khan should of done but if not then I don't see the logic?

That's because they're not fans of boxing but rather fans of certain boxers.

Golovkin doesn't have any clout because everyone knows he is running out of time in his career and he can't move up to 168.

If he doesn't get the Jacobs fight who will he fight in December where he makes more than 60% of the Jacobs purse? Jacobs will obviously lose out as well but he's five years younger and can look to fight Canelo and make the kind of money Khan made.

GGG is calling out everyone but there is some hypocrisy there. Who was he fighting when he was 29 like Jacobs? Kassim Ouma (27-7-1). When he was 27 like BJS and CEJ? Javier Alberto Mamani (35-7-1). When he was 26 like Canelo? Ibrahim Sid (9-4-2). GGG is now paying for wasting his 20s.

If that's his prerogative to not make fights and if you fans will still eat that up I guess you are correct.

    I personally don't agree though

I get what you're saying but let's not feel sorry for the guy as a guy from humble beginnings he ain't done too badly with nearly all the belts at 160?

He's done amazingly well but that's not going to get him a fight on HBO in December. The reality is he needs the fight more than Jacobs at this point in time.

As I said he can't move up (as there's no one there and it would jeopardise the Canelo fight) so if he wants a credible opponent he will have to pay them well.
