This. Truth is a guy with very limited English from Kazakhstan is a draw and selling out arenas. Meanwhile the US guy can't sell t shirts with his face on, let alone arenas.
Every pro boxer fights for money even your idol Floyd runs dances & holds for Money Coz he cannot FIGHT!!!!
As time goes on Groves will stand more and more of a chance of beating GGG even those he`s no spring chicken either, Billy Joe could get him eventually too if he meets him in a few years.
GGG would have indeed wanted a guarantee of 1M PPV buys or some other outrageous demand before he'd ever step in the ring with Ward so i agree with you on that. Kovalev on the other hand was happy he was getting the opportunity to fight the p4p #1 in the world which is why you never heard him make any excuses or diva like demands. Golovkin had he fought Ward would have banked the highest purse of his career minus the Canelo pay as Kovalev took away a rumourd $7M in the first fight. Golovkin had a career high purse and a career defining legacy fight on offer to him and he turned it down to protect his zero first and foremost. He had other plans and they involved non-risk fights against smaller guys like Cotto and Canelo. Golovkin gladly let Ward sail off where he took on the risks and challenges he wanted no part of.
True words. Canelo challenged Paul Williams, Mayweather, Lara, Trout, Cotto, Golovkin. Lara challenged Canelo, Trout, Hurd, Golovkin Trout challenged Cotto, Canelo, Lara, Charlo bros., Golovkin Golovkin challenged Mayweather, Pacquiao, Chavez Jr
Ward was always an option. If he supposedly had trouble getting to face him, why not seek out other opportunities to create a legacy? GGG complains about fighters not fighting him because he is a high risk low reward fighter, yet he has done the same thing with Andre Ward, Sergeiy Derevyanchenko, and him or his team gave publicly stated that Jermall Charlo doesn't offer enough reward to make the fight worth making.
Yeah maybe, it's only opinions, we won't know until if and when any of that happens. Golovkin is getting old, nobody can deny that but he doesn't really balloon up between fights and I've never read one story or heard any stories about Golovkin out drinking or going mad, he looks like he takes very good care of himself so he might have a good few years left in him. On the other side, that old saying "he grew old overnight", Golovkin could just go, it could be a really quick end to his career. Looking at that lot at 168 in my opinion Golovkin would really have to take a nose dive to lose to some of them.
Shook, really? The man is a animal, I don't think to many folks on the planet could shake him. However he is a animal that wants to make the big paydays. While a Ward fight might have been a fight fans dream match it probably doesn't make much more money then what he would off say Lemieux. Long story short not enough money for way to hard a fight, same reason most big name fighters avoid certain challengers. I have no doubts though Golovkin would have fought him back then if the money was right. Not defending this behavior, just saying it's the way this business works and all big name fighters do it this way.
You're by far the most unbiased poster I've ever come across on any forum. If you say these are the facts, then these are the facts.
