GGG has been one of the most avoided guys in recent years for sure, as to whether he's avoided now or not, I mean I'd still say yes, BJS doesn't seem to want it and himself is on record saying so, I don't buy that CEJ callout at all and it's CEJ, who gives a **** anyway. Canelo, he dropped the belt for a reason, I have little hope that Canelo will actually face him in his next fight, probably will wait for GGG to get old. Lara, maybe, we'll have to see (Lara himself is one of the guys who tends to be avoided, has to be mentioned). But Sturm, Canelo, Cotto, Quillin, Martinez didn't want it at all. Even guys like Geale who did end up facing him, stalled it for as long as they could.
Rigo is indeed avoided by others in his weight class, but he did land Donaire in his 12th fight. I think GGG's been avoided by more of his peers, and he hasn't had the chance for a signature victory like that yet. Rigo is a good mention, but it's not a long list of fighters that have as good a claim as GGG to the title of "most avoided".
There's a list of peers in the opening post that want to duke it out with "the most feared man in boxing". He wants a signature win he needs to something extraordinary.
Quality post. I'm hoping that Jacobs demands his mandatory. I wouldn't mind seeing either Lara or Eubank in there with him if they are serious. Frankly I doubt that Canelo is ever going to fight him, at least not until GGG is 38 and slow as molasses. But, I have to say, Golovkin's style seems like it could age well. He doesn't rely so much on reflexes and speed as sound boxing technique, footwork and power. So Saul could be in for a big disappointment if he waits for GGG to get old.
Frankly I have my doubts that all of them are serious about it. That said, it could also be that with the addition of the WBC belt, Golovkin is seen more of as a lower risk to one's reputation to fight because of his dominance. Nobody wanted to fight him before because he was a nobody. There's only really Canelo clinging to his record. I'm hoping that the tide has turned.
Golovkin is the most avoided fighter on the planet, by far!!! Alvarez clearly ran from him, gave up his title. Cotto refused to fight him, Quillin refused. Golovkin hopes to fight Alvarez, but knows that El Pollo is afraid, so he wants to fight Saunders for a fourth title or Jacobs, actually both ASAP!!!
Boxers that ducked/ducking GGG 1---Felix sturm - wouldn't fight him for over 2 years when GGG was mandatory. 2---Peter quillin - said he will only fight for the may-pac kind of money, lol + he flew to Haymon to avoid GGG 3---Sergio martinez - "His promoter said that "no way I am putting him with this monster", GGG kept calling him out after his U.S. debut after every fight 4---Miguel cotto - ducked his mandatory(GGG) twice by fighting Geale and Canelo 5---Julio cesar chavez jr - Turned down 12mil offer by TR 6---Saul alvarez - Avoided his mando(GGG). Thinks that he is fighting at the weight-class of 155, as there is no such thing as a "155 weight-class" ,he is pretending to be not in the MW division because of GGG.There are 17 divisions just pick one, if you can't make 154 then you are a MW, simple. 7---Carl froch - After calling GGG out then when GGG accepted ,he backed down and now he is retired after making all the fuss, + GGG was calling him for more than a year so no excuses for "retiring". 8---Andrea Ward - The diva of the 168lb division don't want to travel or meet the a-side GGG in a catchweight so he can become a good boy and get ktfo. Was willing to goto 160 for Floyd but when GGG said 164, Ward ducked + he was fine when Dawson came down a whole division for him but wont move half a division for GGG, smh 9---Billy joe Saunders - Even before winning the WBO title from Lee his fear of Golovkin was as biright as day this is just one of many interviews(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJuwAz-ekoQ), then after winning it he priced himslef out at 6 mil$. Then turned down $3.2mill offer from k-2(its 2.2 gbp so I converted) 10---Hassaan ndam njikam -When Hassaan was WBO champ, he was ordered to a purse bid to face Golovkin no less than two times and he was a no show each time. 11---Darren Barker - When Barker defeated Geale to become IBF champ, his promoter openly said that Barker will fight any1 except GGG You r welcome, cocksucker.
I dont even like him but yeah he is. Actions speak much louder than words. Those guys can say whatever they want but they wont step in the ring with him, period. Deal with it, phaggot.
And he wanted 50/50 after fighting Paul Smith in a half-filled arena. Hahahahahhaha On BET Network. BET! Bahahhahhahahaha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yall stupid to believe Ward can make 160, but you don't.. It's all to help your argument when everyone already knows the deal.. The problem with you guys is that you say no one wants to fight GGG and when someone says they do, you make reasons why they shouldn't fight or you just don't believe them.. You not believing them doesn't make it true.. I also find it funny how to make a point again, yall say guys "ran into retirement" to avoid a fight.. You're suggesting they quit their job to not fight a guy that they don't have to fight.. You're just trying to find anything to throw in this fire to keep it going, even if it doesn't even burn...
What's wrong with fighting on BET? Roc Nation has a deal with them, and they mix in music artists in the last telecast a couple of weeks ago.
It's a subpar network, for boxing at least. If that's too subjective, then a number of 300,000 views and an unfilled arena gives it objectivity. You don't ask 50/50 from a fighter who sells out MSG with those numbers. Had Andre possessed a higher demand upon his return, more prominent networks would bend over backwards to snag him. I dont know of Golovkin is avoided or not. It would be interesting to know why Cotto and Canelo didnt fight Golovkin when MW champs
