:yep I thought of JCC straight away when I watched his sublime footwork, effortless movement, just a step here & a step there, fabulous economical movement, looked like he was skating, no escape, perfect positioning, just outside the pocket at all times, never crowding his work, always giving the opponent just enough distance to encourage engagement. His defence is more than a tad suspect though, for such an accomplished technician.

Triple GOAT is on his way to becoming a legend.

Difference between he and others like Berto/Pavlik/JCCjr is we have seen those guys in competitive fights or floored before their first loss. Golovkin has destroyed everyone in his path without losing many rounds.

"I walked over to Golovkin after the fight and I said, 'Whatever anyone said about you, you are better than that,'" said Gary Shaw, Geale's promoter. "In all my years in boxing, he's the best 160-pounder I've ever seen. He has all the tools and all the moves. I thought Geale could take him to a decision. The better man won tonight.

We can bash Graziano and Foreman, who got his shot and made good proving he was worthy and also got in with Robinson which is no picnic by the way, and Foreman who took on Prime Holyfield at 45 and gave him more than Tyson did, yet put Golovkin in the Pantheon before he has done anything of note. I can barely spell his name yet he is being compared to Joe Louis.

    Fine...lets do it.

"If Ward wants to try his hand at 160 then bring it on!"

Are you kidding? What, is Golovkin your hero or something? Dude, you are not ready to have a boxing discussion with me. Talk to someone else. Come back to me when you grow up.

This is disappointing. A guy gets a little fame, a little record, and all of a sudden he is a world beater. This happens all the time. I am still waiting for Mayweather to fight someone credible and we are talking about Golovkin?

While fighting in the deepest MW era ever with literally over 40 guys who were either ATG, HOF or very strong contenders Zale managed to avoid every single one of them instead feasting on WW's many of who were already past it, he would fit in great with this era of boxing.

Monzon, Hagler, Hopkins catch hell for the the WW's they faced but they also fought all the best MW's out there and resorted to facing some WW's due to name value and fan interest. Fun to watch and a gritty guy inside the ring yes but his carefully managed selection of opposition makes Floyd look like Mike Gibbons.

He is no where near an ATG/ HOF.

But for now he has beat 4 RING Magazine top ten fighters, 2 of which where top 5, still has a very long way to go to make the HOF or be a considered and ATG though.

    No Doubt.
Won't take a great boxer to do it either. Randall Bailey will do.

    Zale ducked everyone?

Like Hostak, Apostoli (HOF), Abrams (HOF), and Billy Conn (HOF) before going to World War II in his prime for 4 years, then coming back in fight Graziano (prime, HOF) and Marcel Cerdan (prime, HOF).

Seriously, didn't the mob run boxing back then, as well as deep racism? Could that have played a part in Ezzard Charles, Archie Moore, Sugar Ray Robinson, etc not getting a crack earlier than Zale. Zale was brave and a warrior.

I see that it is easy to stand back and put down yesterday champions without any kind of context or logic. Zale fought the best in a era where you had to be great to win any part of the one title that existed. Not the WBO, 123, ABC, ETC title either. Not the 168, or 140, or 154 weight division either. 8 divisions or get out.

Welterweights move up and take on MW's all the time in the history of boxing. Sugar Ray was a WW in his prime and floored prime Fulmer with one shot. I see no problem with a full sized Middleweight fighting a man that has moved up in weight to get a shot. Some do but they are lame.

After facing and defeating ATGs and future hall Of Famers Adama, Stevens, and Geale, of course GGG is a future ATG.

Next he will face top 5 ATG MW Sam Soliman and after defeating him Golovkin will rank above Hearns, SRL, and ODLH for accomplishing such a super human feat.

I got the krokodil for ya'll to celebrate.

I meant Graziano who was the topic of conversation from my previous post and the one i quoted. My mistake but that should have been pretty obvious.
