Good point man, the talent for Golo to achieve such greatness isnt really there.

Yeah, the MW division is the weakest I've ever seen it.
It literally has no decent contenders, and those who would normally be top contenders and gatekeepers are champions.

Fortunately there is a new crop of MWs on the way up who may help to fill the present void.

He certainly has the tools to become an ATG MW, if he gets the fights and hangs in for another 8 -12 defences.

However, until he actually builds up that resume, I wouldn't rank him an ATG just yet.

Toss the lesser, non-gurus some scraps, SSG.

List some of these nascent pugilists for the dimmer lights on the GF to contemplate.

I really like GGG hard not to like.

BUT YOU NUTHUGGERS SHOULD STOP. TRIPPPLE DUUUCK HAS NOT BEAT ANYBODY SIGNIFICANT. AND WONT EVEN FIGHT THE CURRENT CHAMPIONS IN HIS DIVISION.

    Very good point..

I was debating with Rico Spadafora in another thread that GGG beating Cotto to become THE MW champ would not be as impressive as Roy's win over B.Hop..

Who you beat to become THE champ holds more weight than just being THE champ. Every weight class has its weak periods over time, and some fights are bigger than the weight and titles.

The lineal champ Cotto is not even a true MW, and barely gets credit for becoming the lineal champ. Fighters make the titles.

Really, you cats need to calm the fuk down and not let Sanchez get you all twisted with his marketing hype.
Golovkin as well as Quillin are decent boxers, but far away for presenting any challenge what-so-ever to the past all time greats.
To become great a fighter needs great opposition.
This is why neither Vitali or Vlad will ever be considered great champions because they exist at a time when there is no great opponent.

personally, I'd like to see both Golovkin and Quillin develop much further than they have by competing at their highest levels. If the competition is not within the MW division then they should move up or down to seek better opponents.
This is really their only real hope for greatness, not dominating opponents that are obviously two levels below them.

Not yet.....but if he dominates David he will be moving faster in that direction. This is GGG's biggest test and also his most dangerous foe.

The problem is the same for what it was for BHOP years ago..... he's in the MW division which sorely lacks the talent and big names the lower and higher weight classes provides. He is doing a great job cleaning up his division but he can't become "great" dominating guys like Lemieux.

He could surpass BHOP in title defenses at MW feasting on the current pool of fish....but he won't gain the accolades. He needs to move up or down at some point.

    he doesnt belong. lol
beating geale and monroe doesnt make you great
bumlovkin is ducking ward, the only elite oponent he can have in his resume.
bumlovkin scared of challenges, instead prefers stay in bumland and fight rubio leftover.

You know you're good when the only opponents people see you losing to are the ones in a whole division (two actually) above you :good
