The weight is an issue because Brook is unproven at that weight. If he had moved up to 154 and then 160 while looking as good as he has appeared to be at 147 then it would be no issue. Brook relies on his physicality at 147 to win fights this will not be in his favor at 147. There is going to be a big difference between taking punches at 147 then at 160. Those heavier shots especially to the body will tire him out faster and he has never fought a 12 round fight of this caliber with all the weight he will have on himself. We have weight classes for a reason and that is because WEIGHT IS A HUGE ISSUE.

Not really, look at gennady, if he really wanted to he could make 154, it'd be a massive struggle but he could do it. He's said he'd fight floyd at that weight. I think it's an individual thing but some guys compete better without the cutting weight and can hang with bigger guys. Floyd.... manny... golovkin walks around in the 170's so his weight isn't much higher than his fighting weight. Froch's walking around weight wasn't far off his fighting weight... i'm sure there are many more examples

Yes but he is also taller, an inch extra in height usually add around 5-6lbs in weight... he's clearly an inch taller, if not more. There actual body mass is quite similar

GGG is bigger. But not as big a size difference as I had imagined. This could be a good fight. For a while.

Yep this despite what Hearn says about Brooks walk around weight it's not about that, more to do with what you alluded to,Brook hasn't fought at middle weight and therefore he hasn't faced their power or tested his at that level.
Brook is tough no doubt but against Gennady Golovkin?someone who has real power at that weight, come on unless Brook can do a Mayweather and not get hit he's no chance,GGG is very hittable though it would seem, then again if GGG is on for a Jabathon then it could be hard work and slow death for Brook?

Brook just trains his show musculature like biceps and pectorals while trying to keep a visible abdominal wall. Golovkin's training is much more specific for combat and he clearly has the denser more compact frame that was designed for boxing success not visual appeal.
