There is no way Golovkin can outbox Floyd. Even as a fan, I have to admit that. Floyd is too fast and will land a lot of punches as long as the fight is going on.

GGG will not be affected by them though. He took some serious bombs from Stevens, one of the hardest hitting MW's today. He also opened his defense to let Geale punch him, for a counterpunch KO.
Golovkin's chin is iron, Floyd won't be able to hurt him. Golovkin will open his defense and knock Floyd out, probably in round 4 or 5.

Everyone knows the pressure Golovkin makes. Floyd will stan at the ropes, hiding behind his defense, trying to avoid those punches.

Golovkin several sick body punches, those who broke Macklin's ribs. Floyd, if not going down, opens his defense because of pain. He never felt that kind of power before. Golovkin knocks him out with an uppercut.

If Floyd is TBE, he will find a way to win that fight.

I agree a good/potentially great middleweight beats a great welterweight.

Who cares? Floyd is the best fighter of his generation and doesn't need to fight someone naturally much bigger than him.

GGG can finally lay claim to the linear middleweight crown after Floyd whops Cotto and then retires.

Then maybe GGG can make his own legacy. But until then, talks of Floyd vs GGG is ridiculous.

I think Golovkin might be overrated at the moment, but I'm sure he would knock Mayweather out.

It's a fight we will never see.

Really a shame how bad people make huge money in boxing while good people with more entertaining styles get frozen out.

Talk of a Cotto v Floyd 2 super fight for the "middleweight championship" is ridiculous while GGG is in the division.
    A completely fraudulent match.

Let's see Floyd earn a shot at the middleweight title then.

He can knock Floyd down in every round and still lose UD on the cards with a wide margin. All Floyds gotto do is survive till the last bell. We saw it once again yesterday, its impossible to win a decision no matter how badly you beat him.

Floyd earned the shot to fight whoever he wants for whatever reason he wants, and I'm sure middleweight champion Miguel Cotto would be happy to oblige him.

    It's not fraudulent at all.

Floyd has a chance to become the linear middleweight champion before he retires, and that would be an historic achievement and a brilliant final feather for his cap.

Mayweather-Cotto II makes all the sense in the world, both for Floyd and for Cotto.

    There is no denying this.

Golovkin wins because he truly brings 2 things Floyd has NEVER seen:

    1. REAL KO power in both hands (Floyd has never really fought a true KO artist on a really hot KO streak)

    2. A REAL body attack. No need to have to hit May in the face if you have the potential for delivering a one-shot liver KO blow like Golo can.

Golovkin can absolutely beat mayweather. He's an example of smart pressure, not just following a guy around and hoping he trades with you

what saddens me most about this subject is the irrelevance. At what point do you see GGG having anything to do with Floyd's legacy they are naturally two weight classes away from ear other and are at two completely different stages of their respective careers. This fight basically removed the p4p logic that is an essential detail of the sport.
