No doubt Ward showcased the better skills at the higher level, but here's this thing called punching power that can bring the big leagues down. GGG is the most impressive puncher I've seen since... Tyson.
Good ****ing God and I don't mean Son of God either. This GGG **** has went over board. He beat ****ing Macklin and now all of the sudden he is a all time ****ing great.
Reality check.... GGG has had more pro fights than Ward (and more amateur fights) GGG has 2.5" longer reach than Ward GGG is only .5" shorter than Ward GGG has a better Amateur record than Ward GGG hits much harder than Ward GGG has a better chin than Ward GGG fights way more often than Ward Ward has three big names on his resume Froch, Kessler, Dawson. Dawson's last outing was a disgrace, the other two are good, but not All time great fighters. YES his resume is better than GGG's, but it's still not an amazing resume. (GGG's amateur wins against Bute, Dirrell etc. show some promise also...) I think it would be an amazing and very competitive fight that both guys have a chance at winning. If you don't thing GGG with his reach and strength advantage has a chance, you should pull your head out of your ass.
won't happen until 2015 at best. GGG will stay middleweight until then. If he wins 3 fights at middle maybe he would step up to 168 but I can't see his first shot at 168 being ward. You would think he would take on froch or kessler or Bute, someone that ward has fought?
There's a reason Ward goes to a decision more often than not each time he faces a ranked super-middle. The guy has devised a safety-first style protecting his chin and not taking any chances. This is the core of who Andre Ward is. It boggles the mind how people overlook this fact.
