This is brilliant. The old "I'm perfectly sane, it's everyone else who's mad" line. How on earth can Canelo have landed the better punches? His shots had no effect whatsoever on Golovkin. None. Golovkin's shots had him back-pedalling all over the ring
If that scorecard weren’t so wide and was only 1 or 2 rounds in it nobody would say anything. Because of bad judging people are questioning a probably fair draw or even a Canelo slight victory. OP You said Canelo can’t trouble GGG but did GGG trouble Canelo?
It was those temple shots which gave Canelo pause, as after that he knew he couldn't absorb too many more of those and so went on his bike. Jacobs was indeed a more challenging fight for Golovkin as he was 20 pounds heavier, while roided up out of his skull and trained as if it was his last ever fight in the ring. I too have little interest in watching GGG deliver another bullying session on Canelo.
This is the correct answer. How did all three judges give Canelo the last 3? Far be it from me to suggest that they all realised Canelo was losing and if that was allowed to happen, there's no more DLH dollar in future Let's not even talk about Adelaide Byrd because she could only see one fighter in the ring!!!
Even boxing writers that scored for Golovkin conceded that Canelo landed the harder more effective punches. You want to talk about ineffective, try explaining why Golovkin would back off when Canelo was on the ropes. Check that, you don't have to explain, Golovkin himself acknowledged he knew he was being rope a doped. LOL! Golovkin knows but his fans don't want to acknowledge it. Fact is most who scored for Golovkin believe Canelo landed the cleaner more telling blows.
I'm looking forward to the rematch. Mostly because I am interested in seeing what kind of adjustments Alvarez can make to beat GGG. With that said, I am not sure if Alvarez can make the kind of adjustments to turn things around in the rematch based on what we saw in the initial meeting. A lot of the adjustments Canelo needs doesn't have much to do inside the ring, but outside of it in camp. His stamina and conditioning are the biggest liabilities he'll need to address so he can have more consistency doing what he had success with in the first fight. What Alvarez does offensively he does well...he just needs the gas tank to do it more frequently
I mean how confident of a Golovkin victory are his fans that they don't want to see a rematch? LOL! Neutral and Canelo fans are welcoming a rematch, they cant wait! LOL! I think we're getting at the heart of the matter here for Golovkin fans. They don't want to see a rematch fearing the end of the line for the G'ster. LOL!
I'm interested to see what adjustments both men will make. The biggest adjustments I am looking for is whether or not G decides to throw more body punches and whether or not G decides to be more aggressive overall. I don't think Canelo really has to make any big adjustments, but he certainly could make some adjustments, like fighting more on the inside if he wants to. But I'm faily confident that he can fight a very similar fight and win it more convincingly this time around if he doesn't retreat as much like he did at times during the middle rounds. I think both men will make adjustments though and it will be interesting to see what each fighter's adjustments translate to in the ring. I think what we learned in the early rounds is that both men respected each other a lot and fought the early rounds very cautiously. A part of me thinks G might come out more aggressive, but then again he may still want to pace himself so I'm really not sure what to expect but I'm looking forward to seeing how it unfolds.
It's hilarious. I mean to go as far as to say that the rematch "doesn't interest me" is really quite a statement. I mean whoever you thought won the fight, to not want to see the rematch, I really have to question your love for the sport if you don't have any interest in seeing the rematch. I personally find this matchup fascinating and can't wait to see the rematch.
I don't expect it to be any different from the first fight so I'm not particularly interested either. Will still watch it though.
Golovkin won that first fight. Not in the history books but those who saw it will know what the result should of been. A rematch would be interesting i think, its Canelo who has to make adjustments because GGG has one style and he wont ever change that. What can Canelo do differently? a higher output over all 12 rounds maybe? I dunno but i would like to see it again
It was a very good close fight and the rematch might even be better, unless either fighter dominates.
im not really interested either compared to the first go around. the fight was close i had ggg winning 8-4 or 7-5. the problem is that boxing is a business like everything else and its all bout dollar bills. ggg is cool with the decision. bcuz he kept his belt and will have a career pay day again . actually ggg would rather it a draw in the long run its more money .
What about G's lack of body punches? Doesn't he typically throw more body punches? Doesn't he usually fight less cautiously than he did in the early rounds vs Canelo? Would you expect G to try landing more body punches in the rematch?
