Abel Sanchez recently said that 158 was not a problem Bernard Hopkins said the fight could be made at 156.5 So now we are literally 1.5 pounds away! Of course, I believe that the fight SHOULD be made at 160. But, boxing being boxing, this ish will happen. 156.5 is better than 155. Hopefully they can agree to 157. This would basically even out the fight whereas at 160 GGG would beat his ### easy work.
Canelo is not Cotto He could make 158 and be a little drained why He needs to drain more to 155 because nobody believe He is a 154 fighter.
Leverage is how it happened. Canelo brings 900k PPV while GGG brings 150k. Canelo can wait GGG out while GGG is running out of time. Will be 34 after April 2016. 157 is the weight the fight will happen.
And the night of the fight, Canelo will weigh 175 and Golovkin 185. Nothing gets done because people quibble over details like a pound here or there, and everyone is 15 or 20 pounds over the weight when the bell rings anyway. Go back to the day of the fight weigh ins. Get in the best shape you can compete at. That's your division. At one time, people used to actually "move up" in weight. Now, it's just a weight-loss contest. How much weight can I make you lose. And then neither of us will fight at that weight anyway ... and neither of us will even be close in weight to each other. Everything is out of whack.
They'll both be light heavyweights or cruiserweights when the bell rings, regardless. If either had to fight at 160, they'd be so dehydrated they'd pass out after two rounds.
till there across the ring from eachother I no longer care these politician type games get on my nerves.
Complete BS. If anything it would be the other way around. GGG will weigh 175 and Canelo 185. GGG barely weighs over 170 on fight night. Canelo on the other hand weighed in at 174 against Angulo on fight night and against Cotto he didn't do a pre-fight weigh in, but he was clearly the biggest he's been. I bet he weighed 180. GGG is not a weight cutter by today's standards.
I will make the proper threat about this one day but I'm certain that Canelo is heavier than GGG and a lower weight is not helping him.
