The only way K2 should have agreed to this deal if they will actually PROMOTE Canelo after the voluntary, such that they will have to agree with themselves for the Golovkin fight. Golovkin should fight Lee in MSG on regular HBO (assuming Lee beats Saunders), Canelo should fight a proper middleweight tune up in May (Heiland, N'Dam or Lemieux would be great I think). Then in September Golovkin beats Canelo and moves finally on to conquer (?) 168 in 2017 before he gets too old.
156.5 huh? They are into the decimals now. GGG's reply: 156.6 or no fight. TheY r looking like rIDICULOUS A SSClowns now.
This seems to be a strange myth that has arisen. But, just because an unfancied fighter did better than expected, does not mean he deserved to win. Alvarez beat up Trout for the first half of the fight, and because it was open-scoring, knew he only had to avoid getting TKOd/KOd to win. So he coasted for the rest of the fight to a close but clear decision (closer than it should have been given the evident disparity in ability). The Lara fight was admittedly more subjective. Lara definitely won all the early rounds but then, to my mind, went from brilliantly evasive defensive boxing to just running away from Canelo's power. So I scored it to Canelo by a very narrow margin. I would have no problem with a draw or Lara by a point or so - but to say Lara definitely won is just unfounded dogmatism. I noticed the same happened with Paulie M vs Broner. Paulie gave Broner more trouble than expected but was still badly beaten-up. A few months later, people are saying Paulie should have won and it was a crooked decision.
