I used to believe that till GGG turned down '15 mil' from a guy 'he knows he can win beat' He don't give a damn about his fans or his legacy just like canelo at this point, he's got the same M.O as all the other fighters, collect as much money possible for the least amount of risk.
Just the other day. He was literally whoring himself for a may weather fight saying he will make 154 easy for the fight, lol he wants to fight a retired welterweight but when asked about Ward at 168 he says 'I'm a small middleweight, I'm happy at 154-160'. This is the same guy who's promoter said he would fight Froch at 170 if wants to come out of retirement.
I just found it on youtube. I was skeptical when I read your post that he said that, but he did actually say that lol. He was asked about fighing FLoyd or moving up to 168 to possibly fight someone like Ward and he said basically that he could make 160 or 154 easily, which was shocking to me due to his unwillingness to fight Canelo last year below 160. He said he's currently about 164 lbs and was 165 a month before the fight. I sort of respected his hard line 160 stance which is why I was so shocked that he suggested he could make 154 easily which I don't believe. I think he has enough trouble making 160 and don't think he could make 154 without being a complete zombine. Why he would say that now really is a head scratcher, as most people agree that Canelo vs Golovkin should happen at 160 so he's not drained. (including me!) He was pretty much saying that he would go down to 154 to fight Floyd but not for Canelo, saying that Canelo is nothing compared to Floyd. This guy is showing a complete disrespect for Canelo, and not only that but he's coming off as a hypocrit putting out there that he could make 154 easy. No one would have blamed him if he just said he only fights at 160, but he pretty much just said that he would have no problem coming down to 154 for Floyd lol.
Canelo's resume is 10000 light years beyond that of GGG's and he's only 25 and GGG is 35 let that sink in.
1) I also don't think he can "easily" make 154 at all. 2) He's doing it for the $$$ he could make vs Floyd. A cashout, if you will. 3) Floyd still won't fight him at that weight 4) He does disrespect Canelo, and I can see why with all the "I'll fight you now" talk. I agree that he should stick to 160 and maybe 168. No ways does PBF fight him even at 154.
Canelo's entire resume consists of JMW and WW's that he often struggled to beat. You could argue Lara even beat him. Let that sink in.
