I've had a break from here for a good while, but upon returning it's just as bad. Last year I'd debate with anyone and everyone and I'd enjoy it. But my patience has gone. This is no longer a place to debate boxing.

Regarding your post, again, I don't have an issue with a percentage in Canelo's favour.

Here we go again. The reoccurring argument where a guy who is hyped up with no numbers to support a ******ed notion deserves more of a share they've never garnered on their own but they have moral support from fans lmao. It's pretty simple. Nobody is holding this fight up more than GGG. He's never got 10 million on his own. He can't get 10 million without Canelo. If he and his team accept reality and do what every other fighter in the sport has had to do and give in to the bigger star to prove themselves. He can get his payday. Or he can continue to fights cans and cab drivers as he gets older or actually challenge himself and move up since everyone is supposedly afraid in the weak ass 160 division. Too easy.

 

Not hating. Just pointing out that Golovkin is as relevant as Sam Smith and shortly will be surpassed by Smith in the resume department.
Pointing out the obvious is not hating. Rather, it is your response that is reactive.
Golovkin and K2 have gotten away with matching Golovkin against inferior, non-competitive opponents for the last 5 years. Now that reality has rammed Golovkin's credibility as a top level fighter into the toilet.
To save himself from going down in boxing history as a boxing side show, flat fee worthy fighter, he needs to step it up, with a quickness!

Oscar told Loeffler to stand by the phone, but then phoned Frank W instead. Pathetic. Then he wanted the fight next year instead of now. Then he wants to offer a flat fee when the fight has realistic expectations of grossing $70-80m plus. Yet GG is holding up the fight?

Take out $10m, and then tell us logically how Canelo deserves the rest of what's left?

This supposed new face of boxing has just got 250-300,000 from the Smith fight. And those figures match up perfectly with his fights against Trout, Lara, Angulo and Kirkland etc. If he fights a huge name, he does great. If he doesn't, the numbers drop dramatically. That means that although he deserves significantly more than GG, he doesn't deserve anything like 75% of the purse. It's absolute b*llocks.

 

Alvarez can fight Pacquiao @ 154 or Baby Chavez @ 168 and make more money than fighting Bumlovkin. Alvarez could probably fight Brook @ 160lbs in the UK and do twice the PPVs Bumlovkin did.

Then, of course, there is always the prospect of a Mayweather rematch...

Alvarez did 2+mil PPVs in the Mayweather fight AND on US PPV TV. Please remove your head from your ass. Mr. 97K PPVs is NOT a draw in the US.
