I don't think anyone could deny its a good offer as ten million is top money but you have to wonder about the timing of when they mentioned it just like when he KOd Khan and was put under pressure from Kellerman,I actually believe that Canelomeant every word after the Khan fight and genuinely thought he'd be facing GGG next but you could see Oscar laughing in the background who obviously had his own agenda with his cash cow,and so it was after Liam Smith,Kellerman even said he didn't think it serious as its a year away.
Think about this only a few week later Oscar has come out and said all negotiations will be privately done to stop any speculation like we see on here.

Personally I think it is a massive fight cause one only has to see how many reply on here and on news 24 about it and with GBP you just know they'll spend money promoting it well?

It's really not a flat fee when you factor in the revenue from PPV money he'd recieve. People won't let this flat fee **** go, even after Oscar backed off the flat fee offer and threw in PPV upside plus his 10 mill guarentee. Canelo will get a flat fee with Upside too, and it will be more because he's the A-side and the bigger star of the 2. It's fair for both parties.

Too bad GBP isn't offering 25/75 split because the fight would have already been signed, imo.

    70/30 would not be unreasonable?

It's a big fight....but it's not massive ....some of golvkins fans wanna think this is oscar/floyd, floyd/canelo or floyd /pac....it's not....but it's big

Ya...people here and other boxing sites talk about it alot.....but u have to remember there's a few hundred of us here....and die hard boxing fans aren't exactly a dime a dozen

Ya...I'm just saying....I think there are very few instances where an undercard fight pushes someone to buy a ppv where they were in the fence ....u think someone was like "I ain't buy in floyd canelo....well ****...u wanna see Danny vs Lucas so I guess I will"? ....personally I doubt it.....

No, but that fight helped it sell the way it did, and Canelo-Mosley also played a big part of the success of Mayweather-Cotto, so stacking the undercard is always a positive rather than a negative... They sign the contracts now, make their guaranteed purse, then by the time the fight comes around, there will be a bigger budget, then they can work on stacking the card, which will boost sales tremendously. It will be a huge event, when this goes down equaling more money for everybody.

GGG should take the 10 mill plus upside, because at the end of the day it really is a fair deal. DO IT!

That's was a great fight to put on there...Danny vs lucas....imo that fight as great as it was wouldn't have influenced a single ppv buy though ....maybe I just think differently

By the same token it must have helped because I see no reason for them to put that on there if it wouldn't ....that fight would have stood alone as a feature main event ....they didn't have to do that ....so there must have been a reason

More money was the reason bro!:dancer2:

And I'll like to add that maybe GBP wasn't that sure of Canelo's star power at that time, so putting Garcia-Lucas on the undercard paid off, big time!

You think so? GG's problem with Canelo isn't money. It's the weight that they will fight at. I side with GG not wanting to boil himself down to 155. I believe him when he and Ward said that they will come down only for a fight with Floyd. Had GG not made 5 million against Brook, Jacobs GG mightve been made already. Jmo.

Exactly. The man event is always the sole reason why a ppv is bought.
