Negotiations are just at the beginning stage... smart people are waiting to see what actually happens.

At MW, GG is the 'Man' of the division.

His popularity is gaining with each fight, and he currently has 3 of the 5 belts, including the WBC that Canelo handed over.

There are only 2 belts left. The WBA that Jacobs has and the WBO that BJS has. As we know, K2 are currently deep in negotiations to fight Jacobs early next year. If GG either beats him or Jacobs vacates, GG will end up with the belt. Which would obviously mean that only the WBO belt was left. Unless BJS could beat either Canelo or GG, one of those is going to end up with the belt. So either GG will have all 5 belts, or he'll have 4 of the 5. Yet you're telling me Canelo doesn't need him? Canelo and Oscar are already under immense pressure to take the fight after they invited GG into the ring after Canelo had beaten Khan. So again, unless either of them lose, when the other belt holders have been taken out of the equation, there wouldn't be any other relevant fights at MW. Sure, he could buy time by rematching Cotto or fighting someone like Eubank, but then what? Who's Canelo going to fight? WBO mandatories of he beats BJS? Who? Their resumes have got nothing to do with anything here. Canelo's just had to strip naked to weigh-in against Smith. I think it's safe to say his JMW days have come to an end. He obviously hasn't got the option of moving up to SMW like GG has. So once he's officially moved up to MW, his options aren't great.

Regarding the 10m, again, you're only looking from one perspective. Canelo needs GG to repair his reputation, and he needs him to gain his biggest payday. A Cotto rematch will not pay him what a GG fight will, and neither will any fight at JMW or MW. There's only Manny or Floyd. But whilst I think Floyd will definitely return, I don't think he'd fight Canelo. There's a few people making a noise about Manny, but to me it would be ridiculous. Now Canelo has just fought Smith for only a guaranteed $3.5m, and the fight bombed at 250,000 buys. His next fight will probably be a lower level MW to ease him in to the weight. So what will he make from that? You guys think he's a superstar when he isn't. He was also lucky that he had the chance to fight Floyd and Cotto. Again, when he fights a big name he does great numbers. And when he doesn't fight big names he doesn't. The pattern is crystal clear. Although he's obviously more popular than GG, his purses and his buys gave a true reflection against: Kirkland, Trout, Lara and Smith etc. If Floyd had fought Liam Smith, he'd have done many more buys. Canelo is not Floyd. Unless he fights Cotto, Manny, Floyd or GG, you will see the same figures replicated. Which is why it's completely unfair for him to be given 75% against GG.

If this fight doesn't happen, GG will move up to SMW, and Oscar and Canelo's name will be forever tainted.

Can we all just admit GGG is a bit overblown. He doesn't sell. He's not in a true position to make Danny a 75/25 offer. IMO although I think GGG would win, this makes him and his team look weary and a little timid of Jacobs. Probably because they know since a blown up WW exposed that chin a little, Danny has a good chance of exposing it more. Just saying...

The Canelo NUTHUGGERS & TROLLS will NOT accept the fact that O$car/GBP/Canelo have MESSED UP in negotiations with GGG/K2. All the TROLLS do... is post EXCUSES, LIES, and SPECTUALTION.

The "so called TEN MILLION DOLLAR OFFER" by GBP is the opening position and has been amended at least twice that we know of... since first presented.

It is delightful to see these CLOWNS posts... twisting and screaming with their denials and nonsense.

A Cotto rematch wouldn't do as well as last year's fight. So no, in my opinion, it wouldn't generate more than a GG fight.

A Manny fight would be huge, but I don't think we'll see it.

Yes, the Smith fight did bomb. It was about 250,000 with only a $3.5m guarantee. That's huge money to the man on the street, but not to them. When Canelo officially moves up to MW, unless GG loses, he'll be the guy who he has to fight at some point.

This fight has realistic expectations of doing $70-80m, if not more. So there's no way Canelo deserves 75%, when it's GG's belts they'll be fighting for, he's the undefeated 'Man' of the division, and it would be Canelo's biggest payday.

Unless Canelo fights Manny, Floyd, Cotto or GG, just watch his figures continue to dwindle. When he officially moves up to MW, he hasn't got many opponents that will give him a huge payday.

The reason why he can't get fights is because guys like Canelo invite him into the ring, ask for a voluntary fight beforehand, then drop the belt and run when it's time for action.
