not being able to speak the language is one thing....but body language is another. and when he says..."either he's going to win by knock out or i'm going to win by knockout...i don't know..." maybe it is being "realistic" but i interpret it as a lack of confidence.

Fair enough. I don't see why he would suddenly have a lack of confidence though. Regardless, I can't wait.

I'm a big GGG fan and yes i think he is the best 160 fighter, but Ward would beat him and i honestly think quite wide, People have to realise Ward is on the same level as Tommy Hearns, Calzaghe, Hopkins ect he reallly is a genius theirs a reason he hasnt lost since he was 12

C'mon, you perfectly know GGG's resume would be stacked with big scalps and he'd be the official MW kingpin by now, if only wusses like Martinez, Geale and Sturm weren't ducking him like the plague, paying money to avoid him, dropping belts, taking on bums, saying the fight makes no sense etc.

GGG could beat Floyd, Martinez, Ward, Hopkins tomorrow if he was given the chance, he could brutalize the rest of champions from 154-175 and unify the 4 divisions, and yes, that'd make him better than Floyd

GGG wont beat Hopking longevity but he sure as hell can beat Hopkins' ass. He has the potential to be greatest MW ever at least in a P4P sense. If Hagler was active nowadays, he'd probably be ducking GGG

Matthysse ain't **** compared to GGG, never was, Mathysse only has power, GGG has the power, skills and amateur acumen. All he lacks is popularity and $$$$ behind him to become boxing's biggest star. He is very similar to Rigondeaux in that sense. but unlike Rigo, GGG is actually exciting to watch and isn't harboring a glass jaw

Golovkin could be a great middleweight if the other guys in his division would stop ducking him.

That disgracefully shameless duck by that fraud Daniel Geale will forever make me sick, throwing his belt in the trash to avoid the beating GGG would have given him. Maybe now that he has lost his belt and has no offers on the table GGG will finally be able to smoke him out of his rat hole in Tasmania and give him the beating he so richly deserves.

Golovkin is very good. The bitter arguments over his credibility are substantial proof. When Munndine says Mayweather is his exit strategy it creates laughter. When GGG mentions it'sa fantasy fight for him it generates hours of negative effort amongst posters.

What do we mean by greater?

I'm not a Mayweather fan, but he has proved himself repeatedly 'gainst the top fighters in every division he 's competed in. The only arguments against him are thst he missed a few of the top guys at various times. FMJ has proved himself repeatedly and essentially owned 140-147 for the better part of a decade.

    Golovkin needs to:

    Beat Maravillla
Beat Quillin (if the option becomes available and King Gabe don't get there first)
    Beat 'Dre Ward

    or Move to !54

Beat all including Flovd - then do the above.

Ultimately it ain't gonna happen. Golovkin could be the greatest boxer in all history, but coming from Kazakhstan and spending the majority (as yet) of his career as an amateur he will never be seen ('cept possibly by history) as a greater boxer than Floyd.

EDIT: Thinking tho... If Golovkin could beat Floyd at 154, Martinez at 160, and Ward at 168 he would essentially have beaten all the top P4Pers within his reach. All he'd need to do then would be to carry on beating the very best fighters over 3 or p'haps 4 divisions until his retirement.

I admire Golovkin a great deal, but this conversation is massively premature, TS is perhaps trying to get another troll thread rolling?

Floyd is a welterweight, GGG should smash a welterweight shouldn't he?

  11. Floyd is the 154lbs champ and GGG will fighting anyone from 154 to 168

GGG could be as great as Mayweather IF, he had been lucky enough to had been born to Roger Mayweather and inherited his genetics.
Otherwise, he could be as great if the whole world were in dream land.

I think GGG is a great fighter but to say he would beat them both is premature at best and possibly just silly!
He will get a chance to fight some better fighters and then we will see if he lives up to the hype. Too soon to compare him to Floyd or Ward!

He said that Macklin has the same power and speed as him all the time before the fight, but it turned out he was just respectful, right? :) Since he looks at boxing first as a sport, he shows true sportsmanship and does not like trash talking, as Jordan once said something like you don't need to tell how good are you in the game - the game will tell it for you.
Yet Gena doesn't respect Stevens, I felt he wants to kill the latter although he wanted to stay calm.

this is like saying roy jones was dodged by all those European fighters who never made it in the US...

GGG is only getting his feet wet now. the reasons why he hasn't fought a top MW yet has more to do with his late rise on the international boxing scene, and his obscurity from the US until late

there is no such thing as a quality fighter who has strong US profile and representation, who doesn't get top fights

hes 30 years old and hasn't fought anyone - the end
