look 3g already fought an elite guy, same as callum did. admittedly 3g did it at age 35 and callum did at 28, but other than that you are beating the wrong gong here pal.

 

Whatever option he chooses he'll likely get criticised by some.

He fights Smith he's taking on a less proven fighter from what is thought of as a very weak division and ducking a 3rd potential loss from Canelo.

He takes the Canelo fight he get accused of chasing the money over legacy and ducking the younger, hungrier fighter and not chasing a title in a 2nd weight division.

Personally I'd be OK with either option, both are good fights.

 

Am I missing something? Why is it one or the other? My understanding is that GGG would rather have the Canelo fight, but he doesnt have control over that. And if he catches flak over fighting Callum, Canelo should catch it 5 times over.

Nah, team GGG are professional in every sense of the word..He was very wise to take the money, legacy's don't fund generations of your family and provide top education for your children. Who else should he have fought instead ?? No one comes close, a blind man can see all roads lead to Canelo !

 

Honestly if I were him I'd chase the 3rd fight with Canelo. I liked both fight, and I wouldn't mind seeing it a 3rd time but I'd rather see him against Andrade or anyone who hasn't shared the ring with him yet.

But if I was in his shoes ? Yup, give me the canelo money !

 

At least he’s not taking on 125lb MMA guys then pulling out of the fight after getting uncomfy about going into unfamiliar territory. Having the cards constantly stacked in your favor is nothing but ***** stuff.


GGG has already dared to be great taking on Clenelo with everything stacked against him. And yes... I bet he takes on Smith. Watch

 

G needs to do like the greats of old. Example, Fight Canelo Saturday the first then fight the young hungry fighter the next Saturday the 8th. Simple!
