Golovkin was hit a lot against Stevens more so than any other fight I've seen him in. The 4th and 5th round Stevens almost hit him at will but his shots had no effect on Golovkin at all and his work rate was so low, mainly due to often being forced into a shell by Golovkin's power which is frightening. I think Golovkin proved his chin is very good and it will take a serious puncher to take advantage of his porous defence. It will also take a very tough and durable fighter to not be forced into a defensive shell and fight in spurts because Golovkins power is seemingly so overwhelming at least on this level. I think Golovkin did show some flaws that better fighters may take advantage of but it's quite clear Martinez and Quillin don't want anything to do with him so until Golovkin moves up we'll continue to see him walk down guys like Stevens.
Yeah so old school that back in the day fighters never took any shots and all their defences were like willie peps
