geale is not well known to the average fan. imagine if it was a froch or someone like that canelos last fight did like 350,000
geale isn't, but how much difference would froch do? ward has been AWOL for a good time now and I doubt ANY casuals over here care about SMW (again) canelo would sell better than froch easy
His fight was on regular HBO though of course the numbers where higher, compared to a fight in which you had to pay to watch.
I was expecting a bit more, but it's a good sign that an 300-400k tuned in from the undercard. Golovkin's fight peaked at a little over a million. Respectable, but just OK numbers.
Lady is trolling again. Golovkin-Stevens did 1.4 mil, thats almost double what he pulled against Geale. These are disappointing numbers. Golovkin might not be as big of a star as thought.
I wouldn't be surprised if the fight did even bigger numbers on European channels, even when it aired in the middle of the night.
ur comparing ppv to regular tv... do you know how many views canelo gets in mexico ??? like over 2 million if not more
drainelo was ppv. ggg was viewership. cant compare. but you can argue drainelo is more popular that;s why he can headline a ppv event. ggg is on the way. i think 2015 will be his banner year.
People making excuses saying July and August are bad for boxing which is bs, if people enjoy a fighter then they'll watch the fight. Golovkin needs what Pacquiao had with De La Hoya, he needs to fight someone extremely popular in the US to get popular himself. Him knocking people out isn't good enough for the casual fan which makes no sense since that's what people are attracted to, maybe people just don't like him.
