Golovkin, 350 amateur fights with only 5 defeats. World Amateur Gold Medalist, Olympic Silver Medalist, Asian Champion Gold, Asian Games Gold. Unbeaten as a professional, undisputed middleweight champion, winning his last 23 by stoppage. I really wish I was that overrated with no skill.
Brook did well enough. It was a hell of a fight while it lasted, but one had to know almost from the start that Brook's lack of waist movement was going to cost him in there. Brook had subtle head movement that kept him from consistently getting hit by big shots, but he didn't employ any waist movement and used very little lateral movement. That's just not a recipe to beat a fighter of Golovkin's qualities. The fight was just getting heated though. I don't agree with the corner stoppage. Brook had taken a few of Golovkin's shots right before the stoppage, but nothing that really shook Brook's foundation. That and Brook up to that point was responding to every push that Golovkin had come at him with to that point.
I did not see any real skill in this fight. He looked very one dimensional - Ward was so beat him up its not even funny.
