Floyd used his boxing skills, knowledge & range to keep defeating high level opponents, even after he lost his reflexes.

One common trait in all those boxers, is that they were all slower than Floyd (very few boxers can challenge Floyd speed) & all had a shorter reach. Floyd at 72" was able to keep them out of the game, by implementing perfect no error boxing & punishing his opponents everytime they make a mistake.

By applying this proven formula, A fit 160 lbs Floyd Mayweather can shake down the foundations of ATG historic list & defeat GGG using his reach/speed advantages (both above GGG), Floyd will need a bit more time to reach 160 (165 ring weight, although Floyd might take the risk of coming in at light flat 160! & depend on his pure boxing skills/footwork...both options are winnable scenarios :think )

GGG would be charged with murder if he ever fought this old version of Floyd, let's not be ridiculous.

Too much difference in size, GGG with his iron chin wouldn't need to respect Floyd's punches either, Floyd wouldn't be able to really "punish" him. If nothing else worked GGG could just fight like Maidana and butcher Floyd with his power.

GGG would break/dislocate Floid's shoulder the first time he's up against the ropes.

If Floyd wants to fight GGG then he should to it. If not then he should say so, but he should let the young guys come up because he is a glory hog.

He had his time in the sun and boxing is suffering because he won't let his time pass because of his ego. If he wins or loses I hope he does it and gets it over with. The young guys from 140-160 are just sitting around waiting on him like the ****ing messiah or something.

GGG's vastly underrated parrying skills would negate Mayweather's jab with relative ease.

Floyd has a stylistic advantage over GGG, GGG has a puncher chance nothing more.

Floyd might take this calculated risk, if he does get KOed it doesn't hurt his legacy at all, because GGG will be an instant ATG & Floyd got KOed 30lb above his best weight, his spot on the ATG list remains the same.

If Floyd manages to win a decision at least 50% chance, he can retire 50-0, GGG will recover his belts at 160 & secure a HOF spot or even an ATG spot if he can regain an Undisputed championship after Floyd defeated him.

This conclusion is based on strict numbers, its the same number that rationalize Floyd retirement in 2008 when Margarito 73" & Paul Williams 79" were holding down the division. GGG 70" makes him a beatable opponent to Floyd. The high risk/higher reward situation is very encouraging.

A fight vs GGG win/lose makes sense more than any fight for Floyd now. A win will silence the last opponents of Floyd who will just focus on PEDs/IV & drop the weaker Void campaign, plus it will increase Floyd $ which should motivate Mr $, as he will be in a position to demand more $ than he did vs Pacquiao & alot of people will genuinely tune in to get a chance to see Floyd in the riskiest fight of his career (in reality its no riskier than DLH fight)

Wouldn't surprise me if it played out the same way as the Canelo fight.

I hate Floyd, but people seem to forget just how damn good he is.

There's no reason why he can't steal a decision.

I mean GGG has never been in with a defensive wizard like Floyd, never. And if GGG was to start headhunting with no thought behind it, Floyd would have an easier night.

People also forget that Floyd has MILLIONS of reasons not to lose (I'm talking financially), no way is he even losing an ounce of focus if they fought.

I wish GGG would unify and move up, and I'd love to see Floyd's streak broken (not a hater, but 50-0 is a milestone AND it's a curse, and GGG is the man to give us great fights EVERY SINGLE TIME) but I just cannot underestimate Floyd when his back is to the wall. You know he comes out firing and on-point, and with his serious he takes fights? I'd have to back him.

If Floyd negates GGG's power with movement and takes an amateur-style approach to this fight then GGG will be hitting fresh air all night.

Golovkin still beats him. Mayweather is skilled but in different areas than Golovkin. Given the size and age, since Floyd is old for an athlete, Golovkin beats him rather quickly. Even if Floyd is filled into 160.

Now if Golovkin drained to 154, I don't think he'd be healthy, then it might be more competitive.

Thomas hearns is an ATG Welter, but that fading in big fights & letting tricky SRL splash all over you is not Top ATG behavior :nono

Everybody in the ATG list stops Tommy Hearns :conf

Thomas Hearns is an ATG in the same class as Manny Pacquiao, failed to dominate any weight class but maintained superstar status & electrified the crowds all through their careers.

Thomas Hearns & about 100 Top Welters have over 72" reach, that can give serious problems to current Floyd Mayweather :think

Hearns beat Benitez, and knocked out Duran, he was also giving Ray Leonard a boxing lesson. He's the hardest hitting welterweight ever.. H2h at 147 hearns is definitely in the top 3 with Robinson, and Leonard. Hearns would also both outbox and knock Floyd the f**k out.

Irrational conclusion, you don't even know how you reached that conclusion, maybe you are assuming GGG is being underrated :?

GGG is more than likely on his way to become an ATG at 160 if not the GOAT 160
He already made a historic KO streak 15-0-0-0 (KO 15). However, GGG has no history of keeping this streak vs:

    • Undefeated fighters
    • HOF fighters
    • ATG fighters

While GGG fits more perfectly into Mayweather stylistic cherry picking, coming 2" short from passing through Floyd 72" reach, Floyd literally keeps GGG out of the fight for 12 rounds, using his 72" reach & superior ring generalship, also Floyd has an iron chin that been slightly tested & might be the last line of defense in case GGG was fast enough to eat a jab/right hand then try to land something big. Floyd Chin/Endurance & ability to get up from a potential KD are all favorable for Floyd, reducing the chances of GGG puncher chance (which might work better vs Thomas Hearns due to his history of getting stopped)

GGG sat at Big bear all those years thinking he was the Apex predator & little did he know that he was simply big game for Floyd that he just needs to get well calibred for

GGG is a big perfect ripe cherry on Floyd Mayweather plate :think

Floyd would be 148 fighting at 160. It really doesn't make sense. GGG would have to move down to 154 at least to even consider this.
