Let's see, Cotto has a middleweight title and GGG has yet to fight at 168. So how in the **** is it even similar? I don't blame Cotto for not wanting any part of GGG, but to criticize Golovkin for wanting to unify the Middleweight division is bull****. Cotto is either going to have to man up or get stripped of the title.

 

You may not have heard, Ward isn't fighting these days. His promoter won't get him fights and has now even counter-sued Ward. You should really keep up with current events.

Golovkin has never fought at 168 and has widely been criticised for not fighting the best at 160. If Cotto is the best at 160, surely that's exactly who Golovkin should be fighting.

Are you suggesting that the widely acknowledged top MW in the world should now avoid the lineal MW champion and sit on his ass for a year or two until the SMW champ finally loses all his money in court and has to fight again?

I'm good with GGG - Ward, (and I think Ward probably wins unless he's rusted solid by the time he fights again) but that ain't the point. The TS is contending that it's unreasonable for GGG to unify his own division against the lineal champ before fighting the lineal champ the division above.

If Miguels the MW lineal champ you can hardly complain about other MW champs calling him out at the same weight.

I mean... what's the argument here? If a fighter from a lower weightclass beats a guy from a higher weightclass they have the right to hang on to their titles indefinitely because, well, it ain't fair for other big guys to pick on them?

So...for example, if the Froch poll gets followed up and somehow Golovkin then beats Carl, by your reasoning GGG wouldn't ever be expected to defend against Ward cos he's from the division above Golovkin?
