Nah. I think most GGG fans want to see him fight the top guys at 168. His future ain't in going down though I'm sure he'd jump at the chance if the opportunity arose to fight FMJ (let's face it which fighter would turn down a $ multi-million payday). As a fan it is frustrating that the best 160 fights can't be made at the moment, but with GGGs name (and thus the $s that go with him) steadily growing, 2014 ought to see him unequivocally astride MW, and hopefully with at least 1 decent 168 fight. The most favoured route seems to be a few more MW fights (including if at all possible Maravilla - or whoever inherits the MW Lineal title) - doing his best to establish himself as the top 160 fighter, then perhaps Froch at 168 to make his name and show his ability at the weight, with a Ward fight probably not until 2015. If Golovkin fulfils the potential I see in him, a Ward fight would be very much the best fight out there, win or lose, but equally I can fully understand the fragility of the 'hype' bubble surrounding GGG. To take on a fight he'd quite likely lose in what would be seen as his first major 'step up' would be premature. Far better to establish his place at 168 against a Bika or La Bomba level opponent first (or even more ideally as a fan Carl Froch - which there has been rumours of for next year).
Golovkin is trying to get a fight with the other champions, Quillin and esp. Martinez. Golovkin has said that he will eventually go up to 168 and fight the best there. Ward has refused to even respond to Stevenson. Stevenson has been calling out Ward for some time now, even on national TV. Stevenson said that if Ward will not fight him at 175 then he will fight Ward at 168. Ward would have to have the fight in his hometown, with his personal referee, judges, boxing commission and commentators. Ward would practice his best punch, the headbutt..............
Why bringing up Stevenson, when this is about Golovkin ? You´re scared of the idea that Ward will fight Golovkin, aren´t you ?
Why hasn't Ward's team made Golovkin an offer to fight? Are they afraid that he will accept the offer?
No, want to show your hypocrisy. You hate Golovkin because he is Eastern European so you want him to go up and fight a light heavyweight who won't even take a PED test nor will he fight outside his home town! Golovkin said he will eventually go up to 168 in the future. Now, why won't Ward fight Stevenson?! Because he is afraid. Ward wants to fight 147 and 160 lbs fighters, but won't go up to fight, perhaps he will fight Hopkins who was outclassed by Calzaghe, oh, you hate him also..... If Ward is so good, let him fight Vitali Klitschko or Vladimir Klitschko. Ward claims he will knock out both, so let him back up his words. Ward is not the best fighter in the world, Klitschkos are. Vitali or Vlad would knock Ward out, no doubt within my mind, so why won't Ward back up his words? Golovkin will back up his words when the time comes, he does want to fight Ward, but he wants a mega fight with Martinez, then fight Quillin. Why is Quillin afraid of him? Golovkin wants to beat the other champions, so he can get big money from a Ward fight in the future. Ward cheats his opponents out of their fair share of money, so Golovkin would have bargaining power, then we will see.............in the mean time Ward is running from Stevenson...........to big for him?
You must be trolling. First of all, you DO realize that Ward wanted Floyd too right? And at a weight Floyd had never fought at. So....??? And you do realize that Ward has only ever fought at 168 right? Super Middle isn't that talented, 168 has Ward, Froch and Kessler... possibly Groves, and 2 ******ed Dirrell brothers. Hardly stacked. Ward is the same guy who says he doesn't want to move up to LH because he is too small... but is currently calling out essentially a Cruiserweight in Chavez. He says GGG or Martinez or Bhop won't put him on the Mayweather level.... but again....wants to fight a bum like Chavez because apparently that will get you elite status. Let's also not forget that Ward (before the injury) was about to fight Kelly Pavlik... A washed up alcoholic who only had wins over a couple of nobody 168 pounders.
You've finally admitted to your back-asswardness and hypocrisy. You know good and god damned well that here in America the "One Drop" rule has ALWAYS applied. ALWAYS. You really need to stop playing crazy because, according to the "One Drop" rule, Martinez and Alvarez are clearly not "White". Remove your head from your ass...
