I think to hardcore fans, Ward-Golovkin will make up for Mayweather-Pacquiao.

Unfortunately neither of these two are developed enough in the mainstream to attract even a quarter of the attention that Mayweather-Pacquiao would've. Both Floyd and Manny used Oscar Dela Hoya for their transition into mega-stardom. Neither SOG or GGG have that option.

Ward's already exhausted his options at SMW. He would benefit greatly if he were to fight Hopkins. Ugly fight, but it would bring him greater mainstream recognition than anything else he could do.

With GGG, his style alone insures he'll continue to build attention, and he still has some big fights he can make with Martinez, Chavez, and Froch. By the time Golovkin goes through those guys, he'll be the A-side to Ward's B-side.

I agree originally with Pimp C. GGG nor his fans want any parts of Ward. Exposure is a very scary thing to face.

Seems much more like projection from insecure GGG doubters.

No, I just been watching boxing too long to know when a guy like GGG is overhyped just because he's been sliding tomato cans and hasn't fought a real opponent yet. Stevens and Macklin don't do it for me. He should fight Froch. Ward I know destroys him and exposes him for what he is which is a nice fighter with power and good positioning at best.

I'm a big fan of both and I can't wait for this fight to happen. And I have no doubt that this fight is going to happen. GGG is going to move up and when he does this fight is going to be the fight real boxing fans will want to see.

Andre is confident in beating GGG and GGG is confident that he can beat Andre and both are undefeated. One weight class won't stand in the way of this one coming off. Both want it.....have mentioned each other as fighters they hope to face so the only question is when and at what weight will this fight happen?

I'd favor Ward.....he has the experience and size.....possibly faster but what is intriguing is the durability of GGG and of course his POWER.....The great equalizer! Ward without question has the resume that proves his greatness. .....triple G...? Not so much. He has been impressive in his fights but there's a big gap in the level Ward has seen inside the ring vs the level Golovkin has faced.

It's still one of the most exciting fights that boxing can make. Tough one to call but if I had to make a call right now it would be Andre by decision.

This is the kind of double talk that cracks me up. How do you know what his level is if you just admitted he's never been tested by "real opponents?"

You're assuming that the Golovkin that faced Stevens and Macklin wouldn't raise his level when he fought Ward, or that he doesn't have the capacity to. That's a dangerous assumption to make- the people who foolishly picked Stevens to win by KO made the exact same mistake.

you may be proven correct, but there's a huge leap from that to "ggg and his fans want no part of ward".

    Check this out: http://espn.go.com/blog/new-yorkboxing/post/_/id/5313/pondering-a-ward-golovkin-fight

"I would give Ward a 9.5 out of 10," said the trainer, who enjoyed Golovkin's last scrap, a TKO win over Curtis Stevens at the MSG Theater on Nov. 2. "He is who he is; he is not going to get any better. He didn't let Rodriguez bully him, and Edwin is limited, so he had no other tactics to try and get Ward. I was happy to see that Ward made more of a fight in some rounds, but he did so because he had a limited opponent in front of him."

So how would Golovkin deal with Ward if they tussled? "Gennady is a fighter with superior power, skills, strength," Sanchez said, adding with a chuckle, "and grappling ability." That crack was a reference to a knock on Ward -- that most of his bouts feature excessive wrestling, better suited to the octagon.

And, I wondered, could fans be treated to a Ward-Golovkin matchup in the near future?

"I hope so," Sanchez said. "Time will tell. Right now, they are both on top, and Andre must believe he is in a superior bargaining position, but not for long. The masses are catching on to GGG!"

Don't know WTF you just said but I see him get hit too much already from the **** poor competition he faced. It lets me know 1 of 2 things...

    1. His defense is leaky and suspect.

    2. He just doesn't respect the tomato cans he's fighting and allows his face to get hit.

I'm leaning more so on point number 1. I think once his comp steps he'll continue to look worse and yes this is already against poor competition. I felt the same about Juanma when he was in the process of getting built up as well and my instinct ended up being correct. GGG is going to get KTFO eventually. Enjoy this time while his hype is at a high because he's soon going to start seeing falling action. Dude gets hit too much against bums. No way in hell he stands a chance against the like of a Ward. So please stop.

Pimp C got all you busters back peddling, stuttering and lying to yourselves. It's something about the truth that just makes bull**** back up. to be honest I think the pimp just wanna see Trip G get the brakes beat off his ass and Ward is the one to do it. How ever the fact remains that if he wants to chase greatness, he needs to reach for a star and Ward is that star. All that **** yall taking is just static.

GGG and team have said that would fight anybody from 154-168lbs.
Who ever fights at 154, 160, 168lbs has been called out.

If I'm not mistaken, HBO wants to make Ward Golovkin. So, if that's true, what the problem? Ward is available..
