Yep. Ams dont mean ****. Telling me someone did something in the ams is like telling me about and NBA players high school career lol. Infact I think the amateur style can be detrimental in the pro game. Most amateurs i see dont have any headmovement ala GGG

    Andre Ward

"Golovkin needs to get in the gym and work on his defense"

No wait mr Ward, Golovkin has subtle defense, hes not really getting hit in the fac and bruised up by a LMW.

Well Ward kind of killed his credibility when talking about Golovkin's defense when he said it was better than Chavez Sr.'s.

    It is pitiful...

If GGG were a Black guy from the US...with that shitty defense and sad resume.....the same asses would be all:

"Why is he fighting jr middleweights"

"He's 30 years old and hasn't fought anybody but bums"

"He's a KO waiting to happen"

"He's ducking Sergio" ect ect ect ect

Kinda makes you wonder why they are so EAGER to hype certain fighters in the first place.

GGG is solid at best....in a soft weight division..

Well said. But lets keep this thread about boxing, I was told this guy was a monster. I see nothing special. Now hes not basic but his physical abilities betray him

He impressed me a bit more than he did against Proksa. Because Rosado, despite being only C-level, did bring with him the style that I feel would cause Golovkin the most problems. And Golovkin managed to do a good job of cutting the ring, applying pressure, stay patient, etc. But I'm still not impressed by his defense, though. A sharp-shooter with decent pop will cause him serious problems. Martinez will tattoo his face pretty badly if they fought. And Ward shouldn't even be mentioned as a potential for him.

The funny thing, even in the ams, Dirrell was running away from GGG. Now Dirrell is just running away from any fight, while GGG is on HBO, being hyped (because he is exciting and not running away when fighting).

I thought Dirrell won the fight against GGG at the olympics....

Dirrell fought Abraham and Froch....GGG is fighting jr welters..

Dirrell is younger and actually has some defense..

:D You might very well be right sir. I mean, even in Beijing, Wilder received a gift vs Chakhiev that warranted him the bronze. And with all the bs we witnessed last summer at the London olympics...

Yeah it's typical horse **** from you, the only other poster who so clearly has the 'he's no good he's not even white' attitude is Bama but i'm pretty sure he is atleast black himself while you're just throllllling for the lols you have to be because no person in their right mind is going to try and downplay Golovkin yet at the same time big up Andre Dirrell as some sort of elite 168lb fighter.

Okay, this is just ridiculous. GGG has some hype behind him. Is it deserved, I think so, because the man has been fighting and paying his dues. Was Martinez's resume stellar before HBO started to hype him? Hell no.

So stop with the blatant hatred and just enjoy an exciting & strong fighter.

No matter what you try and say about him, he'd still absolutely destroy Quillin.
