I don't understand why people keep using the "he said he'd fight anyone from 154-168", he said that freaking ages ago lol.

    Agreed.

GGG draining Ward would be a farce, and he would get the same credit Ward got for draining Glass Jawson to 168 if he won. Which is none, and rightfully so.

Catchweights were only a good idea back in the old days when there was 50% fewer divisions. Meeting a 147 & 160, or a 160 and 175 - catchweights were fine. Today we have the 154lb and 168lb divisions for that.

Was it ages ago that he tried to fight Froch at 168 or Mayweather at 154?

GGG was poorly managed in his early pro career.

He should have started at 140 got 6-10 easy euro level fights at the weight then moved up and KOD someone like AYDIN in his 11th fight. Win the minor title then got him a dozen or so A-B types @ 147-154 then KTFO guys like JSK, Angulo, Vera, Foreman, Matirosyan and Lara, thus becoming the enforcer @154. Keeping Canelo and Cotto in hiding (they'd have a trilogy already lmao)

Then after that he could do like most guys and settle n to his natural class @ 31-32.

He would be the UNDISPUTED P4P #1 today had he been managed better when he turned pro.

Sometimes guys just got bad mgmt or more B@LLS than BRAINS....

    EITHER WAY......
GGG KTFO 5 WARD AT 165. 10rds if Ward ducks unless its at 170.

Give me a break. Floyd said some things about Ward that Ward didn't like so he said they could fight at 160. He back tracked on that like a day or two later. Look, if you don't want to see Golovkin fight Ward, just say so. I wouldn't even hold against Golvokin if he didn't want the fight. All these excuses are just silly though. Its really confusing that you've bashed CWs in this thread while also advocating for a CW between Ward and Golovkin even though Golovkin says he has no problems fighting at 168.

Racist Mayweather fans need a new boogeyman to hate after Pacquiao. So GGG fits their needs.

Yeah, but GGG got the equalizer in power and that's really what all the GGG fans are banking on isn't it? Surely they are not saying that GGG is the better boxer because if they feel that way then GGG has the upper hand on two fronts. Power and skills. Then the only advantage for Ward would be three inches in height and one inch in reach. GGG should win that going away, so what's the problem.

Here are the most recent in ring weights of 4 fighters

    Mayweather 148lbs
    Golovkin 170
    Ward 176
    Kovalev 188

now which fight do you think is most realistic?

Floyd doesnt step on scales, its pretty obvious he was about 160-163. He claims he is 148 in the ring, but noone believes it except a select handful of his fans.

GGG has said he will fight anyone from 154-168. It Ward stays at 168 it is a can do. Judging from Wards performance against Smith, ANdre will take a beating.

Chad Dawson called Ward out at 168 right after he defeated Hopkins, so Dawson hurt himself.

Triple G said he's willing to fight anyone from 154-168, so he should do so when the time is right. I mean he's willing to go to 168 for Froch but not Ward. :patsch

Plus why would you want a fighter who might be at 175 go all the way down to 160?

I have to disagree with that, it would be a bogus fight. It would be robbing the fans of what could be a truly epic high level fight. I much prefer to see two healthy , prime guys fight it out than one healthy dude and a zombie.

Please explain if he is 160-163 then why he weighs in at 150-151 for his 154 lb fights? Why cut an extra 3-4 lbs for no reason.

The highest he has EVER been recorded weighing in ring is 150 vs Canelo.

Also, when he went to Jail he was 148 lbs...But who knows maybe he got on the bike in the sauna with a garbage bag on right before that.
