He's staying busy so I have no problem with it. Adama at least seems somewhat durable. It's not like the current middleweight crop is knocking down Golovkin's door to fight him. I don't see Quillin, Geale, Sturm, or anyone else eager to fight him.
I agree, this fight is framed by his next. If he fights a serious opponent before June, then all that's happened is he's gone out twice one soft one not. So you have to wait and see on this.
That's harsh on Adama. In fact, that's harsh on Adama's last opponent who was a "journeyman." If you think jobbing fighters are absolute crap, maybe you need to try another sport? In football, top teams play each other more regularly, I guess.
So who should he be fighting then? He fought four times last year and he's off to the same kind of start for 2014.
heres an idea....."stay busy" fights shouldnt be for the paper titles that are up for grabs. Adama last beat a ranked opponent in 2011 (we are in 2014) his last 3 fights have been a shut out loss to geale in 2012 and last year he had 2 wins over opponents who combined for 38 losses. sure give the man a title shot, hes earned it! atsch
It's pretty well known that other fighters haven't exactly been keen on getting into the ring with Gennady. Couldn't get Martinez into the ring. Nor Quillin. I'm sure there are others. You're making a mountain out of a molehill.
And Iceman, there's a strong possibility that GGG and Geale fight in April. I just thought I'd throw that out there.
Apart from Macklin no one else in the top 10 wants to fight GGG, at the same time apparently HBO are working on Golovkin-Geale next, but that's if Geale wants it?
