HBO don't have the budget to make the Golovkin envelope 4 fights a year, which is what the man does. So they go for 3 of them and leave the European gig out.

they have the budget, they just wont show a "world title fight" where the opponent hasnt beaten a ranked fighter since 2011...and his last 2 wins came against 2 guys who combined for 38 losses. in other words they dont air garbage mismatches

Did you even read the articles about it? HBO2 was going to air it but the infrastructure over in Monaco couldn't accommodate the full suite of HBO equipment for a BAD broadcast. Fell off because of logistics.

That said, the HBO2-only fee is probably lower than the full meal deal and HBO recently reduced their boxing budget. Who says they do have the budget? It's not like you or anyone here is Ken Hershman.

It was not a shut out loss to Geale, those score cards were cooked before the fight in good old Tasmania

Geale just scraped by 115-113 although it was hard to score as it was a flapping slap fest with not to many punch's landed.

even if that was the case...the dude lost....and hasnt beaten a ranked guy since 2011..... thus this fight is a farce as long as its considered a world title fight

Oh I agree that Adama is not a worthy opponent but I don't really care, It's a tune up fight nobody is making anyone watch it. It reminds me of how some Mexican fighters used to take easy tune ups in Mexico between big fights, guys like Marquez, Morales and Castillo used to do it on the reg.

The ones that aren't absolute crap are too busy running away from him.

And don't even start with the "he could go to 168" bullcrap.

He's a freaking champ at 160 and should keep on campaigning there even if the other champs are a bunch of puss1es
