Whats funny is that the 'current champions' dont feel confident enough to step to him... but of course you dont make a thread about that, funny.

Cotto will give up his title before he fights his mandatory Golovkin.................Quillin will not fight Golovkin. Geale was a former champion, after losing to Golovkin, he came back and won his last fight. Golovkin is the best middleweight in the world today. Golovkin offered to fight Void at 154, but Void refused. Golovkin just beat Murray who beat Martinez before he was a cripple, knocked him down, etc., he also beat Sturm, got a draw, but deserved the win by far. Golovkin beat him up badly........................Golovkin is fighting the best he can get into a ring. Ishida knocked Kirkland out in the very first round and went 12 rounds with Paul Williams. Williams could not come close to hurting him. Golovkin knocked Ishida out of the ring and out cold. Ishida is now fighting as a heavyweight...............

he was elevated to WBA Super Champion because Geale dropped that title as soon as he won it off Sturm

he won the WBC interm off Rubio who lost it at the weigh-in

is it his fault that Quillin, N'Dam or Sturm shat themselves rather than face him?

What's funny is that a lot of these posters trying to discredit GGG love Cotto: the undisputed vacant championship winning king.

Incumbent champions beaten? Disable foreman and Martinez.

    Neither did Bernard Hopkins.

He fought and lost to Roy , won the IBF title when it was vacant , then fought about 10 times before he fought Holmes who was the first champion he beat.

He won his interim WBA against the great Milton Nunez.

He elevated that to "full regular" WBA champ against legend Nilson Tapia.

He then won the vacant IBO title by beating Lajuan Simon.

To suggest any of these three were close to top 20 fighters at MW is a complete insult.

    People hate "paper titlists."

Yet there is no more manufactured "title reign" than that of Gennady Golovkin.

However, fans whine and complain when this double standard is pointed out.

What you posted is not true. Golovkin is the best middleweight fighting today..........................he is Cotto's mandatory, but it appears that Cotto will give up his title rather than fight Golovkin.............I enjoy watching Golovkin fight, he is very good fighter. 350 amateur fights with only 5 losses....................he is fighting the best 160 lb. fighters he can get into a ring.................

Its not a double standard because he has since won many bouts that would have been acceptable to the general boxing public for legit vacant title.

In the other thread I saw you talking up Cotto because he "won his title from a champion" in Martinez. ie: a one legged 40 year old - yet the win is supposed to have this great relevance because it was "lineal" (159lb champ!)

    Get real.

I agree that Geale and Murray would have been acceptable for filling a vacant title.

What I posted above is nonetheless true.

Also, I'm not sure which thread you are saying that. I always refer to Cotto as the lineal champ of the division, because he is, but I never "talk (him) up" like you say and to the extent you imply.

You can say Sergio was a one legged fighter and that the fight being at 159 pounds is weak but it still would be the best win on Golovkin's resume, so, hey, not sure why people keep bringing that up to the religious extent they do when discussing Golovkin. I understand that the top fighters seldom are willing to face him. That doesn't in any way add to his achievements though.

I don't like saying things like this, but what I said above that you disagree with is indeed factually true. Sorry.

The Triple Duck needs to do something other than knocking over TOMATO CANs and *earn* a title shot...
