Apples to apples. Just about every small weight fighter moves up due to their body maturing. There is also less LBS between weight classes at the lower weights. Floyd moved up 24 LBS but was he completely outsized in all of his fights while doing it? Maybe by a little in some cases but in general there wasn't a huge size disparity.

GGG's body matured into a MW. He simply is not built to go any higher.

Read some of my other replies, but yes Floyd has been mostly outsized in all of his fights at 147, and 154 which is where is he campaigned for the last 9 years of his career.

Exactly, but he was too busy chasing old on the verge of retiring WW'S like Floyd and Pac.

    FULL STOP
Mayweathers weigh-ins have been at 145-151 for his biggest fights above 140.

His fight vs Pacqioua, he weighed in at 146, but you could see the official moving the slide to the R, indicating he was oz's more than 146.
Within an hour after the weigh in, he was seen visibly rehydrating, (DRINKING WATER) and then was administered 2lbs of IV fluids for severe dehydration.

You DON'T need to be a rocket scientist, or a doctor or even of average intelligence to KNOW that 146.(3?)on the scales + 1.3lbs water(?) + 750 mls IV(2lbs?) plus a nice hearty meal, oral rehydration, even if he weren't SEVERELY dehydrated, = NO LESS THAN 150lbs for FACT, and that if he ate a normal dinner, normal breakfast, lunch and dinner in the following day, plus maintaining hydration during the day, and we can give an educated guesstimate of roughly 155-160 lbs.

Now, for your asertion that he won't have problems getting the stars at SMW to fight him????

Pure speculation. Hopeful, but speculative none-the-less.

As for the idea that his competition ARE stiffs......you must not KSAB.

Wades best win, a gift which should have been a draw was vs a guy, who like BHOP is ageless with his TRT, and doesnt ever get the rightful decision, even during his prime the man was robbed by Winky, Eastman, Mundine, Joval, and was badly injured in his defense against Taylor.
Not saying Wade is a world beater, but his win over Soliman is SOLID even if he should have been awarded a draw, and had Soliman been rightfully awarded his wins over Eastman, Mundine, and Wright, he'd be RIGHTFULLY in the top 30 ATG at MW.

GGG also holds wins over Murray, who like Soliman is quite often on the losing end of PURE ROBBERY's. Murray, had he been RIGHTFULLY awarded wins over Sturm(WBA), Martinez (WBC/Lineal) and Abraham(WBO SMW) would also be a top 30 p4p today, even with his devastating beatdown at the fists of Golovkin, though had he been RIGHTFULLY awarded those wins, like the rest, a fight with GGG would be WISHFUL rather than recorded.

His other wins are also SOLID if not great wins. Geale KO, two time, and unified MW titlist, Ishiida(former LMW titlist), Ouma, faded but solid former LMW titlist, and Lemiuex, a bonafide top 5 MW with power to compete at SMW as well.

So......while we would ALL mostly like to see Golovkin move N and get stars and superstars at 168, it's doubtful that he'll successful land those fights without some litigation and forcing the ABCs to make their titlists defend their belts against him.:-:)-:)-(

GGG has to clean up 160 & become the first Undisputed Champion of our era, if he wants to be the GOAT 160 :think

I keep saying the same thing, and that's because it's true. I mean really if he was to retire tomorrow, he would go down as an undefeated fighter, but would not be considered an ATG, and if for some strange reason he does make it in the books. I'm sure he wouldn't be in the top 100 to ever do it, because he haven't fought no one to make a statement in the history books.

Floyd moved up 24 lbs in 18 yrs.

Golovkin didnt begin his pro career at WW where he very easily could have.

He instead chose NOT to boil down to 147 so he could beat on guys his size or smaller, but instead chose to begin his career at his natural weight. :-(

He could add 10-15lbs of lean muscle and make the move to SMW and LHW without being at too big a disadvantage, but in doing so, he'd never get the payday fights vs Alvarez, Charlo's or BJS.

There is a HUGE financial incentive for him to stay at his natural weight for at least the next 18 months.

After Canelo and BJS, and succesful PPVs against both, GGG might just go straight to LHW for a PPV fight with Kovalev.

It's highly possible if he doesnt get swerved by Canelo later this yr. :think

Nah, he should drag a sh*t chinned WW up to 155lbs.
That would be a "super fight"

I think maybe he does. His division probably isn't good enough to stay there and be considered great. Becoming a two division champ like many others have done, would ccertainly help.

I get that some people don't want to see him KO someone Floyd couldn't, but Canelo is a much bigger fight for him than anyone at 168.

Floyd dared to be great? Holy cow, the dumbest comment in ESB history.

Daring to be great would be facing GGG in a catchweight fight, not running and fighting the biggest bum possible, Berto. Daring to be great isn't facing a washed up oscar or Mosley, or waiting 5 years to face a declining Pac. Daring to be great isn't ducking Prime Pac, Paul Williams, Tsyu, Feitas, etc basically every fighter that would have been legit threats.
Daring to be great isn't fighting 49 times and only 3 of those opponents were actually prime/elite fighters.

DARING TO BE GREAT ISN'T CONSTANTLY TAKING FIGHTS YOU'RE THE HEAVY FAVORITE TO WIN AND EVERYONE ALREADY EXPECTS YOU TO WIN.

Where do these people come from?
