The Hopkins record was a load of rubbish anyway. About 7/8 of Golovkin defences were for the regular title so shouldn't count. Also you can argue Hopkins beat Taylor twice if we are ignoring official scoring. Past that, Hopkins was only the unified champion for two defences (although the man for a lot longer) whereas Monzon has like 14 defences as a full unified, the man of the division.

Records can be pulled apart so let's ignore that. The other point is correct, Golovkin doesn't need the belts anymore and big wins are what he should look for. That said he's been offered Charlo which would be a big win and would secure him the third fight with Canelo which he wants so why not go for it.

Let Canelo hold even more BOGUS title belts it STILL wont make him a CHAMPION. Bennett, NSAC, Oscar and vegas boxing's blatant theft of GGG's titles& handing them to a Ped;s cheater means nothing
To ALL unbiased real & knowledgeable boxing fans the Legitimate Middleweight Champion of the world is still
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! G2NNADY GOLOVKIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if a guy wins officially, it doesn't matter what the public thinks.. Canelo right now is seen as the winner in the two fights.

This thread is a an effin joke! But that touching m's line saved it for me.

But back on topic though, Canelo was touching m's with no belts against Angulo coming off a schooling from Mayweather. I guess he transcended a long time ago.

    /end thread

I know how boxing works. We can argue that Thomas Hearns beat Ray in 1989, but no one ever said he won even if most people think he should have won. It is seen as a draw. The official ruling always stands and at this point, Canelo came out on top in the two fights.

Official rulings dont mean anything if nobody believes in them, or if Corruption is existent in the sport judges.

None of these giys have even been to his fights. Im more of a fan than they are. At least I went to the Monroe Jr. scrap in Inglewood. Its not Staples Center but it was cheap tickets. They don't talk about that at all, I got two 4th row tickets for $130ish with the tax. I don't see that changing because he loss to Canelo. He comes back to Cali to the Stub or the Forum its $50 tickets and Im not complaining one bit.
    I was entertained!!!

His career isn’t over so I’m not sure if he’s a HOFer just yet. He very likely will be though arguably his best wins may be Jacobs and the first Canelo fight which also weren’t overally dominate performances. I know the first Canelo fight was officially a draw but I have GGG the benefit of the doubt.

Fighting and beating Charlo would be impressive.

I have watched boxing for years. Tommy Hearns got a draw and no one ever said he beat Ray and he did better. The official word holds
