Ain't Soliman still suspended for a bit though? - even though the b sample was clean he still gotta 9 month ban I think - not sure when it's up. Which means, basically that Golovkin has literally no-one to fight in the MW top 15. It's gonna actually have to be Mora or calling out someone at 168 - this is getting silly:roll:. I wonder just how much money HBOs prepared to throw at the GGG project? - Someone has to be desperate for the $s before Xmas.
Very good point! :good I am sure Gena dealt with this kind of power in his lengthy career before but in this point of time, here, in the current state, in front of million viewers - this would be an awesome opportunity for him to show versatility in his skillset. Also, considering that Team Stevens is putting breaks on a possible fight in Nov., I realise that now, as Gena's fan, I am at a point of silent madness: I can become frustrated that Gena does not fight Stevens even though I know that Stevens does not deserve a shot against Gena and I shouldn't be frustrated. :huh
Only way Golovkin could be more avoided is if he had AIDS! {I am going to keep using that line. I apologize in advance}
It's hard to be fan of any middleweights, because they are all a bunch of ducks. I hope they realize this.
It sucks for GGG he will have to wait till end of next year if he is lucky before he gets a big fight. They don't want to face him. he will have to keep beating mid level guys until it is so obvious the champs are ducking him they will have to step up and face him.
I want to see Golovkin clean out the middleweight division, but nobody will fight him. I want to see Golovkin fight at 160, he said he would fight at 168 later, or that he could go down to 154 to fight Void. I can see everyone wanting Golovkin fighting lightheavyweights, but his weight division is 160 at this time.
I would prefere Chavez Jr, Murray, Sturm, Rubio or Quillin but if i have to choose between Mora or Stevens i would pick Steven would be a short fight with a lot of action
I think he appealed the German suspension, but regardless he'd be cleared to fight for the December bout. I wouldn't mind seeing a catch weight of 156-155 with Lara or Trout (that way Lara could be allowed to keep his title and might be more willing to accept). At 168, Ward's training partner - Brandon Gonzales would make an interesting fight as well.
It is hard not to fall into the trap of bitching about the current state of boxing replete with insider polotics and backdoor deals but this is ridiculous. The Middleweight shooting star cannot even get an acceptable fight because everyone is ducking him under the guise of wating for the right time. This is the most egregious(sp) collective example I can recall. Truely sad! It was like pulling teeth to even get his two highest ranked opponents (Macklin and Proska) into the ring. Shamefull duckers; The whole stinkin' lot of them...
When asked about his fighting Golovkin, Stevens said that Golovkin picked him that he and his promoters did not want the fight................
