Only an irrational hater would say GGG is only about the $$. Let's keep it real. He has never shown that attitude. You are thinking of FMJ. GGG has a good thing going with HBO because he earned it by being the man at his division and knocking out everyone they can get to face him. Hype aside, real fighters and trainers know GGG is the read deal and it's been stated by them on camera time and again. He is considered high risk and therefore needs to generate the kind of cash reward needed to get business first fighters in the ring. It's a clear catch 22. One he has been slowly working his way out of for years by building up a fan base.

As a rational fan, I feel this move was a mistake by team GGG. But that doesn't take away the fact that he is the man at middleweight until someone stops counting pennies, dares to be great, and proves otherwise.

By the way... While it's true this was very hypocritical of GGG, it doesn't make Canelo somehow look better either. Just shows your agenda.

Uh. That this time, both of his last two potential big-name opponents continually strung him along, pretending they would fight him, until Golovkin ran out of time and needed to make a fight happen?

    That might be the difference?

But I guess he could've just taken a no-name middlweight right? That would've been better? Oh. But he did that. In his last fight. And it was awful.

So a guy that took risk moving up in weight classes fighting the best fighters in those weight classes is less worthy than a 34 year old fraud who has been in one weight class fighting fighters that we've never heard of.

But he knocks them out right? forget the quality of guys he's knocking out.....He knocks them out so lets just praise him.:huh

Not to turn this into a FMJ post but I never said Floyd wasn't worthy of the money. I said he was in the business almost purely FOR the money. I'm pretty sure he would be the first to admit that. Floyd was smart enough to pick fights when it most favored him. And smart enough to force every little advantage he could to give himself the edge. He also knew how to market himself in such a way that people would pay good money for his shows even if they didn't like him. So as much as I may not care for Floyd the fighter, he did earn his money.

Maybe he is cultivating UK fans, like Canelo is with Smith. Business moves baby, for the eventual mega fight!

    Canelo fights Saunders next
    Golovkin fights Eubanks next

Canelo vs Golovkin and Wembley in late 2017

Yeah, I told you guys ggg was playing the boxing politics game as hard as anybody (in history) and here's the proof. This fight. If you **** on Canelo/Kahn, then you cannot in all consciousness, support ggg/brook, unless you're a huge hypocrite.
