GGG is a moron if he doesn't fight Canelo at 155

I think GGG could show good will and compromise to 158. Anything lower may weaken him too much.

They should just agree to a fight night weigh-in at 170lbs, problem solved ;)

    Boxing is becoming a joke.

A fighter who's just won the lineal MW title should be obligated to defend it at the weight limit.

If Canelo refuses to budge, he should get crucified.

It's easy to call GG an idiot if he doesn't comply. The point is, GG should never be put in a position like he's in.

If the fight doesn't happen, I'll be distraught. But I'm not going to criticise GG, when Canelo is now basking in the glory that the title brings, and he weighs in as a LHW on fight night.

If the fight doesn't happen, it's on Canelo. You should be making a thread titled - 'Canelo is a disgrace if he won't defend the title at the limit'

The only reason GGG would be a moron for taking the fight is that he'll have to KO Canelo, I don't think GGG can win points - even if he boxes Canelo's ears off for 12 rounds, he'll still lose a wide UD. We seen Mayweather completely shut Canelo out and one judge even give it a draw. So GGG will need the KO, can he get the KO fighting at 155?

On the other hand the A-side, its clearly Canelo. This fight will propel GGG to the mainstream status his team so desperately seek. Canelo is the biggest name in the game atm, and he won't budge from 155, he isn't silly. Even if Canelo drops his belt and GGG unifies the 160 division, that isn't going to turn him into a PPV attraction, Saunders and Lee aren't mainstream fighters. GGG needs Canelo, even at 155, he should prepare for the KO.

Let be realistic like it or not Canelo is the sacred cow now commanding serious PPV numbers GGG needs him he already was willing to drop to 154 for Floyd, would be very stupid for him to pass this opportunity WBC will look the other side in this issue I'm not siding with Canelo but money talks.

That is another reason to not give up weight. At 155, Canelo may survive 12 rounds and get a decision gifted to him by pocket judges.

Does Canelo claim he holds one of the middleweight belts? Yes? Well, then that is the weight he would fight GGG. Why would they fight at any other weight? Canelo had a weight advantage against Cotto. He has already been given a break. Canelo needs to step up or shut up. GGG should not fight Canelo or anyone else at a catch weight. If Canelo insists on a catch weight with GGG, he is a coward.

Canelo is MW champ and GGG is his mandatory.
    MW limit is 160lbs.
If Canelo wants to weigh in at 155lbs, then that's his business.
Golovkin weighs in at or under 160lbs and Canelo will still probably re-hydrate higher than GGG

5 pounds makes a lot of difference, especially the last five pounds when a person is already weight drained. How can the mandatory middleweight title fight be at a catchweight without the politics?

How am I an idiot for saying Golovkin should call Canelos bluff? If Canelo says no to his own weight stipulation, not even his hardcore fans will back him up on that. He would be forced to man up. Do I need to say it slower for you, or do you get it now? GGG probably needs to be willing to accept short money too. It's the reality.

Middleweight limit is 160. If you're fighting for the title, fight at the weight limit. Full stop.

It might not be too long before Canelo cannot get down to junior middleweight anymore anyway, and he will be forced to go up to 160.

How about 155 with rehydration clause of 168 ? If Canelo is not a MW, it shouldn't be a problem !
