I thought you were “chill”? You just seem to be a very confused, angry black guy. Pretence is a big word for you. I’m actually impressed. Still worried about you kid

It's not bias, it's just a logical assumption, you fruitcake. I'm not even giving my personal opinion on the fight, just what I believe the reaction would be. It doesn't matter if the scorecards are close or not, if the fighter the majority of the press and fans felt won loses, there is going to be some noise made.

Kovalev vs Ward I is a shining recent example. The fight was competitive and scorecards were close, but the wrong man was announced the winner so it was still controversial.

Oh he called me a fruitcake. Uh oh , the namecalling again , that's real mature. Way to go, you really got me good literally calling me a fruitcake. For you to go that route, your argument must be really strong on its own. And about that argument :

I don't know how to break this to you, but you're on your own on this one : It does matter if the scorecards are close or not, because clearly, undeniably, the outrage was over to the fact that Byrd had it 10 rounds to 2 to Canelo. Had she had it 7 rounds to 5 or even 8 rounds to 4, the public wouldn't have been as remotely up in arms about it. This is quite clear, it was clearly the margin of victory that she had it for Canelo that the public was upset about. It's frankly amazing that you'd even try to deny this, becuase it only makes you look even more delusional in your TG fandom than you already were.

Kovalev Ward I was quite different because, unlike Canelo TG, Kovalev knocked Ward down early in the fight and Kovalev built a commanding early lead. Ward mounted a comeback in the 2nd half of the fight and won several close rounds essentially in a row that if he didn't get all those close rounds Kovalev would have won. The outrage there was over the fact that Ward got the decision. Kovalev's fans and many neutrals didn't feel he lost, which had some merit to it.

In Canelo TG, Canelo won the early rounds, G came on in the middle rounds, and Canelo won the Champoinship Rounds. Most people saw it as a close fight that could be argued either way, and the outrage was clearly over the fact that Byrd gave so many rounds to Canelo and only gave G 2. Fans were insulted because they witnessed a close fight and her score suggested that it wasn't close. That was very clearly what the outrage was over.

I don't deny that, they aren't mutually exclusive positions, you fruitcake.

You are just kidding yourself if you think a "draw" where the overwhelming majority thought one guy won, close or not, wouldn't be met with controversy.

3 trained seasoned boxing judges are a more credible judge of how close a fight was than a handful of fanboys who post on message boards combined with a handful of media members and fighters that in your bubble amounts to the so-called the overwhelming majority. There's enough people out there who either had the fight a draw, had Canelo winning, or admitted the fight was close despite thinking G won to see that there's a healthy debate to be had about the decision. You're just too closed minded to consider the possibility that opposing viewpoints could be credible. Further, you resort to cringeworthy namecalling as a means to get your point across, which only dilutes your more substantive points.

You're kidding yourself if you believe that Dave Moretti and Don Trella, two seasoned respected judges, had the fight scored so drastically wrong since they didn't score it as a clear, wide TG win like you thought it was . . . Draws in general are going to be met with resistance and controversy because fans watch fights expecting to see a winner. Quite simply, your interpreting the controversy in the way that you want to interpret it so that it jives with your view of the fight. The outrage over the Byrd card was because she had Canelo winning 10 rounds to 2, not because she had Canelo winning. If the Byrd card was 115-113 or even 116-112, there would have been hardly if any outrage like there was when they heard 118-110. If a judge had come out with a 118-110 score in favor of TG, there would have been outrage and people criticizing that as well. Maybe not quite to the extent of a 118-110 score in favor of Canelo. That has to do with 1) casuals generally favor come forward fighters and are less inclined to score rounds for a fighter backing up and 2) the fact that so many fans, mainly TG fans, had been on a crusade in the lead up to the fight arguing that Canelo had received favorable scoring in the past, to which the Byrd card provided them with the confirmation bias that they needed to further that crusade in the form of crying over the result and screaming robbery.

Why stop there, why not pick a 50 year old Duran too? He beat Castro after all, the mighty conqueror of JDJ and Reggie Johnson. What a great era when a 50 year old Lightweight can whip a top guy.
