Calzaghe and Triple G are both great fighters. Neither are top 5 p4p or 'era' fighters. They both spent most of their careers fighting less than stellar opp, although Joe stepped it up at the end, and it looks like triple g is about to step it up. Calzaghe the better boxer though, easily.
What B level scalp does he have besides a debated decision over Jacobs? Seriously? Lemiuex his next best win is C+/B- AT BEST. Y'all are silly.
To me B or B+ level at MW was/is Murray & Lemieux. Jacobs is borderline A level at 160. Rubio, Ouma & Macklin may be B- level type MW's. I still think over time Monroe Jr might turn out to be be quite good too! Brook is too untested at 160 but in terms of skill he's world class too.
What in the world are you talking about? If Danny Jacobs had gotten the nod vs triple G that would have been his crowning moment, solely due to the hype around triple G.
No, you brought it up YOU define B level. Also define what your A level is. Yes Jacobs officially lost on the score cards, like Pac did to Bradley, Lara did to Williams etc. a highly debatable decision.
Yea nah. Murray and Lemieux are world class C guys, what does Lemiuex have beyond power? What does Murray have under his belt besides all European fights? Rubio, Ouma, Macklin are the definition of C level fighters, lol are you serious? We're not talking within the 160 division, but in the entire landscape of boxing. Monroe JR can play defense but not offense, he's a C+ with a high ceiling, but he'll never achieve it. Danny is a B+ fighter.
Lemieux and Cruiserweight Jacobs were A level Just cause Gennady is that damn good dont let that put you off His performance vs Jacobs was arguably his Greatest. He fought a roided Cruiserweight - i'd laugh my ass off watching Roidy Jacobs fighting Beterbiev
Wow I guess I really started a firestorm with respect to ranking guys C, B or A. Obviously it can be subjective, but if a guy is a top 10 in his weight class surely that gets him at least a B? Even if it's The Ring rankings. If he's a legitimate contender he's an A. In my book, anyway.
If only there would be silence. In actual fact the shrieking and butthurt will last for weeks, not to mention the conspiracy theories that will be touted as fact
Canelo will probably look good for a bit. He's got fast hands, a flashy style and decent power. But I don't think he will be able to deal with Golovkin's jab and I don't think he will be able to take the punishment he's going to ship for too long. He doesn't have the movement to box GGG, who cuts the ring too well in any case. I think a late stoppage is on the cards when Canelo's stamina goes to hell.
