Chinese Alibaba Group executive chairman Jack Ma and one of the world richest man (net worth US$ 38.9 billion) traveled all the way to Las Vegas to root for Gennady Golovkin in his showdown with Mexican boxer Saul ‘Canelo' Alvarez.

"You can hear the punches, feel the rhythm of the bout. I was extremely inspired by the fight of the 36-year-old champion from Kazakhstan GGG against young athlete," he posted his first boxing live experience on his social media account.

I think GGG has a strong global brand more so than Canelo Alvarez. We might also have underestimate his draw in the U.S. judging by the early report of 2M ppv buys.

As he should be! Wins his fights LEGITIMATELY without fouls and corruption and is a great ambassador of the sport that carries himself like a civilized human being. He'll be even bigger world wide after his next two fights and breaking Hopkins record ;)

I've never heard of Jack Ma but I'm pretty certain GGG is famous world wide. I do think his time at the top is limited though being 35. Hopefully we got to see a few more big fights from him after this.

His fights are broadcast in over 120 countries (or at least 100), not just in the US and a handful of others.

K2 has a lot of good connections. I wonder how much they pull in with 120 countries.

Since he fights everywhere around the world, he is becoming a brand name. Good for him, he deserves it. 2 mil ppv is awesome!

Hate is good, it gets attention faster and spreads easier. Golovkin is probably the most humble fighter since Andre Ward, in my opinion. Now we can see if he can carry a card without another star on it and get a million buys.

Yes I'd be interested to know what kind of figure they pull in from all those countries.

Hmm ... this is the same Andre Ward that goes around calling himself the son of God?
