They will play this out to a trilogy. Cotto will use up that Roc Nation deal fighting Canelo 3 times. Remember I said it first. GGG will be pushed to the side by the WBC and will have to go back to fighting low quality opps. Might as well move up now.:patsch

We have yet to be disgusted by the depths that Cotto and the WBC will go to keep him away from that belt. At least GGG is getting a unification PPV bout against a challenger who is willing to fight and risk his belt/current standing.

Cotto is all about Cotto at this stage.

Tom Loeffler says no rematch clause( for Cotto-Canelo) will be accepted by GGG in regards to their position in the WBC... #boxing

Those 2 don't need a belt to have a trilogy. Marquez and Manny did'nt and everyone got paid.

If GGG fights someone to the level of Berto fighting Steve Forbes for the WBC belt then it won't mean ****.

Remember when the WBC had Manny as Floyds Mando?
Amir Khan is the Silver champ?
Cotto was not even ranked and he fought for the belt he has now.
WBC does what it wants, what is K2 gonna do about it?

Golovkin is gonna have to wait his turn. Mayweather is gonna have a date with the winner of that.

This. If they want rematch the belt will be vacated and triple GGG will fight for it.

Cotto said that a belt does not define him and Canelo has had 2 PPV's without one.

That's fine. GGG will have 3 belts and be the undisputed #1 in the division (he already is but it will be more official). Then it will be a trilogy between two guys that don't even call themselves middleweights, with all roads leading to Genady once their fun is over.

Steve Kim is a Russophobe. Has been since he got started in sports media. Back in the mid 90's he gleefully cliamed that it was Kostya Tszyu's "Russian half that got kO'd" against Vince Phillips not his Korean half. Even used that same line when predicting a Judah KO over Tszyu.

GGG is also half Russian/Korean. I wonder if Kim will dust off that old line if GGG ever loses?

Just though you should know what type of person and the toxic opinions he harbors when reading him.

I agree, but possibly no big names involved. Will that effect his legacy?:think

Did it affect Hopkins legacy? He was an undisputed with no amazing beaten opposition on his resume.

When are people going to realize that GGG isn't in the plans for either Cotto or Canelo.:-( I've said this for months. "But he's the mando to Cotto's WBC belt" that's what people screamed. That doesn't mean ****. GGG and his fans need to move on and look to other fighters. There is too much money in Cotto-Canelo and a rematch would make big money as well.

You think the WBC or Cotto-Canelo give a damn about what GGG thinks or wants? The WBC will freeze out GGG here they want Canelo to be their champ.:deal
