So don't bother trying to insist it was a robbery

1.I had GGG winning the first time

    2. I think Canel got unreasonably favorable scorecards vs FMJ Lara Trout Cotto and Khan

    3. I believe Golden Boy has bribed people in the past and Canelo was definitely on something in the Cotto, Khan, Chavez jr and GGG1 fight

    4. I think a 2012-2015/16 GGG handily beats this Canelo, maybe stops him

But he won this one fair and square. GGG looked old, he looked like he didn't want it anymore and that the amount of times hes been screwed over by boxing politics broke his will.

He threw only 1/5 punches hard, most of his punches were pawing and probing

    He got marked up bad

He had none of that ferociousness he showed against Brook who was bigger than Canelo was in the rematch

He got forced out of the center of the ring and I believe he started moving because Canelos speed intimidated him

He's past prime at 36 but he's far from shot. Fact is he faded a bit but his opposition got better too.

Yes and he's looked less than spectacular against Jacobs and in the first Canelo fight, but in the rematch he just looked old. The bodyshots were hurting him, he was pawing with his punches. It wasn't the same guy anymore.

Hes lost his taste for war because he feels he's been screwed over because he didn't get the right fights until his mid 30s and then he thinks he got robbed as well.

So I think it's taken something out of him mentally as well

This was a better fight Canelo for that's for sure. BUT, people are overdoing Canelo's performance.

I had it a draw for the first time. Giving Canelo the last round... god knows why? I've only watched the last round from youtube and scored it for Golovkin. That only does make it 7-5 for Golovkin. Canelo was a better fighter this time around, that's for sure. And GGG, at age 36, arguably won against that. Not rewatching the whole fight I'm not MAD at 7-5 for Canelo. But let's not get overcarried on bashing Golovkin. At age 36, he arguably beat the prime, highly skilled Canelo. Plus Golovkin hurt Canelo two times, Canelo didn't.

I'm happy with any verdict as long as we don't forget that Canelo is a massive **** and oscar is possibly the biggest **** to ever walk the surface of the earth.

How do you think GGG would have faired with Canelo if he was as ferocious as he was with Brook by walking through him?

What do you make of the post fight odds available? The bookies had Vegas cash cow Canelo 7-1 to get the decision, that is a pretty strong indicator of who was the deserving victor here.

'Robbery' does seem a bit dramatic considering how hotly contested it was but considering an overwhelming majority of TV viewers feel the decision went the wrong way, in addition to ringside observers and the aforementioned bookmakers, with the recipient enjoying a long history of generous scorecards, it leaves a bad taste.

The Duran theory of excuses. Make excuses so a loss does not mean anything. Yet if he wins, he gets the credit for the win. I might add that GGG is 4 years older than Duran was when he lost to Hearns.

I don't know what it means. But I'm not a big Canelo fan like I said before.

And I feel like Canelo was FIRMLY in control of the fight until GGG finally got going.

Most of the fighters that were interviewed felt Canelo won as well.

I think people just assume because GGG is a hard puncher that his landed punches were meaningful but you could tell he wasn't putting anything on them because he was afraid of getting countered if he committed (or went to the body) and the facial damage after the fight showed that it was Canelo landing the hard shots.

Like I said I think GGG won the first fight but I really don't see the controversy this time around.
I agree 100% with Mikey Garcia that Canelos on clearly in a great fight in which GGG looked old and worn down

    Agree
    Oscar is very slimy.
Not sure about Canelo as a person but he has been HEAVILY favored by judges in the past and was on PEDs from 2015 until he got caught imo. But he won this fight and GGG looked old, he looked like he didn't want to be there in the first half of the fight

Fair enough. I'm as much judging Canelo by association to be honest and I've still to see the fight as I listened to it on the radio 1930 style..

A load of hogwash!.. He was undefeated , rated #1 on the P4P list and was heavily favored to win. The loss definitely counts against him.

Thats the same as saying Mayweather could have lost to Pacman because he was 38. If Mayweather lost that fight it would have been held against him for the rest of his life.

Golovkin looked slow because Canelo made him look slow. He was aways slow and would always be beaten to the punch by elite boxers with speed.
Kell Brook proved that when GGG was in his absolute prime.

Yeah but GGG still showed desire and ferocity vs Brook thats why he rampaged through him despite taking punches.

Against Canelo he just didn't want it anymore he looked old, discouraged.
Especially in the round where he took several left hooks in the body in a row and didn't respond. It's not the same guy anymore. He's lost the hunger
