When hearns got hurt he was done, except against kinchen. And kinchen was levels below GGG Imo and he nearly KO'd hearns. You can crap on GGG defense but if slow Barkley can put hands on hearns, so can golovkin.

Jacobs might be more durable than hearns. I know jacobs was stopped by pirog but he could have still continued, when can you say that about hearns hit the canvas?

    PWilly was our Hearns.
    Identical in most every way.

    Sad he had that accident.
Woulda been an excellent KO1 on GGGs record. And it would happen too, since PWilly, like Hearns didnt play politics or duck for yrs til a fighter slowed.

Getting to Hearns and hurting him without getting hurt in return is much harder than it is to do to Jacob's. Hence GGG has a puncher's chance. Stating a weakness isn't an argument for a particular fighter being able to exploit it. Now if you think Barkley is slow, you must think Golovkin is a slug, because Barkley was much lighter on his feet, quicker with his hands, moved his upper body more, and exchanged more frequently (whereas Golovkin tends to wait for an opponent to "finish"punching). Not to mention several inches in height and reach.

And in any case, GGG isn't capable of "safely outboxing" Hearns like you originally stated. He'd have to hurt and finish him.

I agree. We can be frustrated it took a while but ducking accusations have become moot. The fight is signed.

WWE is all about showmanship, hype and fake fights. Sounds a lot like Golovkin's entire career, huh?.

:applaudit: < Slow clap for Scar. Only 5 days for a retort? Colour me impressed.

Fake fights are Canelo / Chavez and Mayweather / McGregor.

    FYI.

Still far better than all the opponents GGG fought. Golovkin has been exploding into arenas as a 100/1 favorite his entire career. His biggest fight to date is a blown up Welterweight. Trust me, you have to be mentally disturbed to even continue arguing at this point.

you cant say canelo ducked him cos canelo wasn't at his prime 2 years ago, right now he is in his prime so its the right time for him to fight a good middleweight,

Who should he have fought at 160 that was better than the people that he fought? Maybe you have a couple of names for us? :periodico:

They aren't sacred you know?? Hagler lost to men who never even won a title & many consider him the greatest ever MW. So matching GGG with past greats is not unfair at all considering he is the consensus best MW of his time too (certainly after the Canelo fight he will be considered such anyway)..

People are perfectly within reason to 'fantasy fight' should they choose to do so. It would have been interesting to see how those MW's would have fared against a soviet pedigree 160lb Tszyu like GGG. Pure speculation but intriguing.. Yes they have a far greater resume but GGG can't beat 'a Hearns' because he's nearly dead.

On Classic they put together a top ten MW list that didn't even have Hagler on it. I don't agree, but the crazy thing is that that list was so stacked that you could make a reasonable argument to that effect. I'll see if I can find it.

What made him more prime now than then? Young fighters are always improving so that's not really an excuse for not taking on your biggest challenger, especially when he's already top 10 pound for pound and at the championship level. He's not some prospect and he's not very young in boxing years, especially since he turned pro as a teenager. Plenty of fighters have taken bigger fights sooner.

It was a frustrating delay, but as I said, it doesn't matter because the fight is signed.

You are arguing a non-boxer that primarily kicks and tackles people, McGregor, is a better opponent than top 10 middleweights? Go to the UFC forums, you aren't a boxing fan.
