GGG was definitely watching Saturday night and saw what Stevens did to Saul Roman. GGG looked good against Macklin, but Macklin fought like a skittish matador trapped in a closet with a bull. Stevens has Brownsville Brooklyn on his back. He steamrolled Roman like a Cadillac running over a grape
Stevens is nothing but a good stay busy fight for Golovkin. Golovkin is way too technically sound and poised for Stevens. Again, it's a good stay busy fight, but make no mistake about it, Golovkin would dominate and win the fight.
It's must be easy for GGG to look technically sound fighting light punching jr MWs and weak MWs. GG's entire career is "stay busy fights" Time for old dude to step it up:deal
Love how you dumb, ignorant yanks get a boxer who has a decent run and immediately make him out to be a world beater. Just look at the love Windmiller Wilder gets from yanks who don't know **** about boxing and just can't take the fact American's have no world class representatives in the two historically biggest divisions (heavy and middleweight). Now, you're trying the same with Stevens because he KO'd a bum?
It's easier said than done. The risk/reward ratio isn't at the proper level for many of the top MWs to take him on. Guys like, Gaele, Martinez and Chavez Jr. may take him on next year, but there aren't many attractive options on the table for the rest of this year.
strangely enough, not all us dumb, ignorant yanks congregate under one true belief take each poster on their merits....generalizations (which create an 'us versus them' repetitive theme) will be your ticket to being discredited as a decent poster....don't do it :good
Looks like Stevens' team think he ain't ready (whatever Showtime himself might think) - it seems to be K2 and Loeffler who are making the running for this one, so I guess they can't be that scared. Curtis is just starting to get some momentum since reinventing himself at MW, if he went the WBC route he might line himself a mando in a coupla fights. Losing to Golovkin at this point would not help him in the longer term.
Curtis's last 14 fights resulted in a meager 50% KO ratio (with 2 loses) - He is a puss. GGG's last 14 fights resulted in a 100% KO ratio, and he is undefeated, because he is a beast. It would take affirmative action to put these guys in the same class, because Golovkin is way more qualified for the job.
